This is a song, and a great one at that. So I'm sure Mr. Snider took a wee bit of poetic license... I think the song might have something to do with getting picked up by the law for something silly and kind of hoping his old lady don't get fed up with him... location is almost irrelevant really. Go see him at a live performance and dig it.
Yeah the cops in tillamook are a bunch of faggot s just like that guy said. Messin with people for no fucking reason.power-tripping, profiling and targeting teens, tourists, minorities, people driving beaters, etc.
Weeeellll, I live in Tillamook and I find it MIGHTY hard to believe that anyone here ever got beat up for anything they didn't have coming. This is the quietest place ON EARTH and although I have yet to visit the county jail (looking forward to it, though), it does look a hell of alot more quaint and inviting than the jails I did time in in Illinois. So to hell with this guy. Entertaining though. And if he didn't pay his fines or what-have-you, shouldn't there be a warrant out for him?
Port Orford (Curry County) by way of Tillamook? Talk about your scenic route...
"I find it MIGHTY hard to believe that anyone here ever got beat up for anything they didn't have coming." That would depend on what tavern you walk into. Do you have any suggestions for next time I drive through heading for Rockaway?
"shouldn't there be a warrant out for him?" Depends on how much you owe.
@iamabeaver The hell it is that is the most drama bullshit town i hate that place and wont go back casue the cops do suck their and thier dirty worst cops you will ever meet
Wow I was at this show. And that's about where I was sittin'. And this drunk lady sittin' next to me kept yellin' out for Todd to play Horseshoe Lake. At first he told her "to shut the fuck up" but then latter he played it. But she was so drunk I don't she even knew he played it. And then on the drive home back to Little Rock I ate at the Waffle House in Forest City Arkansas.
haha. yeah. she was whining and crying for it all night, but when he finally played it, he got to the chorus before she realized what song it was. I think you can hear her in one of the other videos, if not this one.
This guy was flicking crap to a highway worker and flying thru a construction zone. Not an "outlaw," just a punk. And you don't have to go thru Tillamook Co. to reach Port O from Portland, so his "sorry mom" was kind of lame. He's no Johnny Cash!
I've lived in Tillamook forever, and I know of nobody getting beat up in the jail by a guard. It's our city cops who have a reputation for power-tripping, profiling and targeting teens, tourists, minorities, people driving beaters, etc.
Ehhh... It's OK. Open tuned blues style, half-way amusing lyrics. As far as 'singer songwriter singing about trouble with the law' nothing beats Zevon's "Lawyers, Guns & Money".

3) No one punched, kicked or otherwise physically abused him at arrest or in jail (I think he would admit this).
4) Tillamook County jail is the nicest damn county jail I have ever seen (this coming from a guy who WAS punched by NYPD and thrown in New York County jail when I was 20).

Oh by the way.. I was the prosecutor on this guys case in Tillamook and he:
1) Pled guilty (kinda of weird if the guy that accused him was a liar as he says in the song).
2) Never paid his fines & fees (most likely the reason he doesn't want to come back).
3) Only completed 28 of 60 hours community service (though some was done for the "Tennessee Bloodhound Team" whatever that is - it sure sounds cool).
