(Part 1) Sadly she isn't a convincing lip-syncher. That's probably my biggest issue. Not so much the lip-synching itself. If you're a showgirl LEARN to lip synch well. Part of this has to also do with the fact that she doesn't re-record vocals for the shows, but uses the same pre-recorded vocals from the albums. Can't do that. People know the difference. Newly recorded vocals that literally sound less perfect, less layered, and such are key for creating a more live vocal illusion.
I wouldn't pay a couple hundred bucks to see an air guitar and karaoke act, why would anyone want to see a SINGER lipsync? If I want to see dancers, I'll go to the ballet. if I want to see a watered down sex act, I'll hit the tittie bar.

Honestly, I go to concerts to SEE the celebrities. I could care less if they lipsync or not. I'd rather hear them lipsync than sound completely horrible. Plus, studio settings are far more different than live settings. The acoustics are different, you have to sing louder, etc. Some singers are able to bend themselves to sing in those types of enviornments, and others aren't. Britney is on top of her game. Her music will always be around no matter what and people will always love her regardless.

If you plan on going to a Britney concert, make sure you're going for the show and not the music.

Lip Syncing should be made illegal. People pay big bucks to hear a artist sing. I don't pay to hear a a artist Lip Sync.

What a stupid debate. Hell, you watch videos of Michael Jackson and you can tell he even lip synced often. Every pop star does it, that's why they don't deserve near as much credit. You want to see real singing, go to a rock show or something. Honestly, that's where the real shows are at; none of this half-assed money grabbing. Oh, and people who think she isn't lip syncing... start listening to real music and you will quickly be educated in what's real.

I saw her in concert once and all but one song was lip synched. The only song she sang "live" was "not a girl, not yet a woman". She dances well, and I think everyone knows by now that she is a studio singer. They can make anybody song good in the studio. If you plan on going to a Britney concert, make sure you're going for the show and not the music.

Actually, I've saw some videos where some experts in sound edition have split the audio and have revelead her secret live vocals.

She doesn't really deserve to be called 'The Princess of Pop' if she can't even be bothered to sing live. Her performances aren't even that 'tiring' compared to other acts. So many acts can sing & dance live and still dont get the recognition they deserve, whereas people are going around saying how much of a 'legend' Britney Spears is when she can't perform without relying on lip-syncing. I like her music and everything, she's just a bit over-rated in the world of Pop and live music performance.

Whoopie-doo-dah. This is due to her record label giving her no other options. Besides all the nagativity with the miming, it was awesome to have Britney here in Melbourne, I was wrapped to see her here. On the otherhand, if her label does chose for her to mime, they could work alot harder on making the tracks sound alot more "acoustic", shame on you Jive for simply playbacking us over autotuned tracks. I've heard Britney sing live at a concert..it was ONE song out of the whole album...a ballad and you could TELL she was live because the way she sounded..anyway...Point is..I do not mind if she does lip-sync..It really doesn't bother me.
