  • EXCELENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I get cramps in my left hand before the end of the second page. I haven't figured out how to overcome this.

  • @aslkfja

have a look at short video about the frontal rolling basic movement, to practise this at the study will relax many functions.

  • @WolfgangEllenberger

Thanks, I'll have a look at it.

  • @WolfgangEllenberger i tried to copy and paste this but document not found?

  • @aslkfja just really have to practice speperately and concentrate consciously on relaxation i know its hard

  • I played this study for my examination and it is a difficult piece to play technically (espec. with that RH melody) I thought this was well played! Good job!

  • ピアノ上手いですね。流石にプロだからだろうなあ。

  • @rabbittown1900 can you write this in english, please?

  • @WolfgangEllenberger 私外国に行く気が無いので英語勉強したいと思ってないんです!。済みません!。

  • @WolfgangEllenberger it says you play with no emotion, but you play decently .. but are not at a professional level (basically insulting you as an amateur)

  • it's chopin not bach

  • I am level 1, how hard is this piece???

  • Comment removed

  • it's pretty hard

if you wanna give it a try then i can give you a site that will let you print the sheet music for free

  • the sound quality of this video is great

and even though it doesn't exactly sound like a harp(like some recordings actually do...idk how), the sound produced seems to be a little more touching

  • Beau travail d'amateur.

Mais je ne voudrais quand même pas être son ...patient!

  • His interpretation is too mécanic....

  • Not bad, but why are you in such a hurry?

This is NOT a "fast" piece.

  • really?? even though it's all 16th notes and is marked allegro

  • A printed musical score is to an artistic performance as a blueprint is to a fully-built, decorated, furnished, landscaped house.

Look at the score to Chopin Opus 20 (Scherzo in B-minor) -- it goes like the wind on a stormy day, yet it's printed entirely in eighth notes.

The expressive content of the music determines the pace, degree of flexibility or rubato and the tone quality. Opus 25, #1 is a LYRICAL piece. He plays INTELLIGENTLY and EFFICIENTLY, but not LYRICALLY enough.

  • *Bösendorfer

  • Bosendorfer sound: absolutely amazing, and much better than New York Steinways.

  • bossendorfer*

  • the technique is there but there's absolutely no shape or emotion in this.

  • I disagree. Emotion =/= sentimentality

  • @igloorestaurant and @andyng85

    what are you talking about???

when i hear it...i hear the freedom of childhood

i feel that the world is gargantuan compared to me which makes it that much more adventurous....i just don't see how there's no emotion...

  • @igloorestaurant agreed :)

  • im playing this song for my level 10 test too..... its kinda like ...well i keep hitting the wrong notes, im just so damn amazed that this guy only hit like 2 wrong notes. lol. i hit many more

  • wrong note at around 0:16? am i correct?

  • no chopin acctually wrote off notes to make it sound interesting. look at 25 11

  • I think his finger slipped slightly and he played the adjacent note as well by accident.

  • It's a good attempt.

I think the tone is a bit too rough, and there is not enough shaping of the melody. Not sentimental enough....

    Keep working on this...

  • yes thats what i found too, a good recording (not on youtube) is that of Idil Biret, her interpretation and technique is amazing

  • Applause, Applause! :D

  • don't quit the day job, mate.

    soulless!

  • I'm playing this piece at the moment, and it is just amazing the speed he is playing! Congratulation!

  • Bad role model. Don't imitate it, please. It's not expressive.

  • i'd rather have him play for me than have 3 screaming brats! you're bloody rude, jealous cow.

  • Honestly, I thought it was a little too fast, not enough rubato, and the harmony sounded just a little too mushy. I guess it boils down to that I would have used the pedal a little differently- more lifts.

The dynamic range was pretty good though, and of course, technically it was amazing.

However, I'm a complete hypocrite- I am nowhere near good enough to play this piece. I'll give it a 5, because my criticisms are as if I'm expecting you to be Argarich. Over all, wonderful performance.

  • very beautifully done! thank you!

  • mistake around 18 i think

  • I'd agree. Or perhaps the instrument made a funny sound right at that moment

  • Wow! I do love Bosendorfer sound!

  • Very beautiful played. Thank you very much!

  • BRAVO! Beautiful piano as well!

  • robotic? You're just jealous that he's way better than you foo

  • i want it!!!! *__*

  • yeeeeah boiiii

  • The piano sound is very beautiful.

  • That is true. It's a very fine instrument. The interpretation leaves much to be desired, however.
