Love Devo and this show! The comment about Steely Dan is COMPLETE bullshit, though. Makes me sad to see it has more thumbs up than every other comment
I remember that "Do you want Booji Boy ?" from Devo's Halloween concert at Radio City Music Hall, but it was an intro to a different song. A cool thing about that show was that I saw a bunch of people at the bus station dressed in Devo gear, and afterwards I saw Yoko Ono (who had presumably been at the show)...
At the time this was taped in Hollywood in Oct. 1982 I was a senior in high school and would have thought (at the time) that anyone who would attend a Devo show was a lame wuss. However, 27 years later I look at the studio audience members with complete envy. What an absolutely great band (that I foolishly refused to go see back in their hay day).
@juankenon For this very reason it came as a shock when The Talking Heads accepted the invitation. Hall of Fame's truly are pointless; if you're a musician or filmmaker you should want your legacy live strictly through your body of work and not some silly conceded award that defiles everything you believed in.
The 1996 Park City, Utah show at Sundance actually had a 10+ minute "Beautiful World" with a very long introduction. Booji, apparently, got lost backstage.
I watched that entire concert just now on youtube. I didn't want it to end! I wish I were born much earlier so that I could have seen them live in this era!
wow... this kinda footage has convinced me to petition my congressman to fund science so a time machine can be invented and i can go back and see DEVO live.
yeah we want booji boy

I saw the New Traditionalist tour at the L.A. Forum. Still one of the best music shows ever staged.

Nothing against Josh, but I'd give anything for Alan to come back to the band.

I do not know why DEVO is not in the Rock Hall of Fame!
They were innovators of their time, socially and musically!
raggabass 2 years ago 17
The Hall of Fame is an irrelevant joke when it actually come to judging an artist's innovation and impact on music.
I mean Steely Dan is there...seriously
