He had peyton manning's awareness, brett favre's cannon arm, tom brady's accuracy, joe montana's comeback skills, and he was mobile (enough). Sure he never won a superbowl but it's a team effort, and he carried the dolphins his entire career. Hell trent dilfer and eli manning have rings, that's proof the number of rings doesn't mean anything.

Favre is a good player and probably has the fastest release in the history of the game.... but he is probably the most inconsistent of the "great" quarterbacks. And yes i know he's thrown for more yards and TD's then any other QB in history, but he's also thrown WAY more picks then any of the others. What has he done since losing SB 32? The last two times he was in the playoffs, he lost the games throwing more picks then TD's... and you dont need John Madden to tell you thats not a good thing.

People are obsessed with who was the greatest qb. You cant say for sure as the game has changed a lot, especially for passers. Modern passers post big numbers as the game is weighted in their favour, guys from the 70s didnt post big stats as the game was different then. There are guys who maybe dont have great numbers but were winners and great big game players (bradshaw, starr, staubuck) and then guys like marino, farve, who had great stats but didnt win miltiple championships. All were good.

I would rate bart starr greater than favre, i know favres stats are way more impressive but the game has changed so much since starrs era. The game is weighted in favour of offence now thats why Qbs of today post big number. ugh elway is so overrated, look at his first 10 years of stats. you cant judge quarterbacks on strictly super bowl wins. it helps dont get me wrong. But big ben has a super bowl win, so does trent dilfer that didnt make them better than manning before he won his superbowl. Troy aikmen had the best team surrounding him of any quarterback ever.
