Marino was the NFL´s record man for so long, but now hss records belong to Brady, Favre, Manning and Brees, but no one of them are better than Joe Montana, more than a human, less than a God
this is a good list. i think favre is 1 also. but its not stupid if you think hes 2 behind montana either. the only thing bad about this list is that elway isnt in there. putting manning in any top 5 list is stupid.
For the last fucking time!!!!! Bret Favre is hardly nothing. Stats are only good because he has been around forever. People are really stupid and ignorant. 1 superbowl and it makes him better than Joe Montanna
Joe Montanna won a National Championship at Notre Dame then went pro to win 4 more superbowls. They dominated their opponets! Yea favre has the most comebacks but Montanna always put them away early so there never was to many comebacks.
Arguments for the Top 5 could include Namath, Favre, Baugh, Tarkenton, Aikman, Bradshaw, Unitas. All of which could make arguments for #1 in their own right It depends on what you are looking for in a QB. Stats, Superbowl, Athleticism. A lot of these guys played very different styles for different teams.
1. Dan Marino / Joe Montana 2.Johnny Unitas 3.John Elway 4.Terry Bradshaw 5.Brett Favre 6. Tom Brady 7. Steve Young 8. Troy Aikman 9. Fran Tarkenton 10. Peyton Manning. You tell me thats not reasonable.
how is Brett Favre 1 all he does is run around get sacked and throws interseptions.if Payton Mannig were to keep the cosecutive game streak alive he's on pase to have more int's then Brett Favre by the time he's 45 if he would play that long. And this list is not that hard
@ryry284 What you have to be joking...He still has the best mechanics ever and the fastest release deadly accurate and was throwing to bums most of his career. you name me a QB that started in a pro bowl in his ROOKIE YEAR had a passer rating of 96 his rookie YEAR . You name me a QB that passed for 5086 and 48 td's in his 2nd year. he still holds most of the records. If marino had ricky williams he wouldve won a super bowl like Elway did when terrel davis came to town. IN the pocket noone better
@ryry284 actully he doesnt. he should be in the running for atleast 2nd beast all time. maybe if you werent such a critic you would relize that dumb ass.
not too bad but i think marino is the greatest qb of all time (and im a skins fan so no bias). He had peyton manning's awareness, brett favre's cannon arm, tom brady's accuracy, joe montana's comeback skills, and he was mobile (enough). Sure he never won a superbowl but it's a team effort, and he carried the dolphins his entire career. Hell trent dilfer and eli manning have rings, that's proof the number of rings doesn't mean anything.
woooww seriously???? wheres peyton???? did u just forget about the 4 time mvp???? superbowl mvp???? smartest qb of all time???? r u kidding???? and sorry 49ers fans but montana is a bit overrate. they sucked before rice, so the top 5 is more like......
Hmmm.... Favre above Montana is laughable...how many interceptions in the playoffs can one guy throw? #1 Montana #2 Brady #3 Marino #4 Elway #5 Manning.....I got Favre 7th behind Steve Young
i've just watched three straight videos where someone was ranking the best QB's of all time. all three had brett farve at #1. that's bullshit. hey FAVREandREDD, Brett Farve may have the most touchdowns, but he also has the most interceptions. Dan Marino has much better overall stats than Farve you dumbfuck. and Joe Montana was way more poised and consistent than Farve, same with Elway.
You know what? brett farve is the one who's a fag. so are you FARVEandREDD, and all of the Packer fans.
maniacshredr you cant seriously think that ben roethlisberger deserves to be on yhis list, hes only played for 5 years . maybe when he retires but now . no way!
Favre is a good player and probably has the fastest release in the history of the game.... but he is probably the most inconsistent of the "great" quarterbacks. And yes i know he's thrown for more yards and TD's then any other QB in history, but he's also thrown WAY more picks then any of the others. What has he done since losing SB 32? The last two times he was in the playoffs, he lost the games throwing more picks then TD's... and you dont need John Madden to tell you thats not a good thing.
Favre? Really? He's not necessarily even top 10 let alone 5. You have to have: Montana, Baugh, Graham, and Brady as your top 4 (or more realistically a tie for 1) After that you have to think Manning, Marino, Elway in some order and maybe then you hit a tier where Favre fits. That puts him at best as 8 and I think there's other QBs that might fit in there too. Not sure about this list at all. No Brady or Manning, Baugh, or Graham? Thumbs down for me.
r u kidding me Favre is the best quarterback that has ever played he has the records to prove it and all those other guys are fags, fFvre when he had a good defense went far the others had good d's and that is why the won more superbowls, take away Bradshaw's defense he would suck
People are obsessed with who was the greatest qb. You cant say for sure as the game has changed a lot, especially for passers. Modern passers post big numbers as the game is weighted in their favour, guys from the 70s didnt post big stats as the game was different then. There are guys who maybe dont have great numbers but were winners and great big game players (bradshaw, starr, staubuck) and then guys like marino, farve, who had great stats but didnt win miltiple championships. All were good.
WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRETT FAVRE IS THE BEST QB EVER!!!!!!! ALL THOSE OTHER QB'S(not unitas) WERE SURROUNDED BY TALENT! BRETT FAVRE IS THE BEST QUARTERBACK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would rate bart starr greater than favre, i know favres stats are way more impressive but the game has changed so much since starrs era. The game is weighted in favour of offence now thats why Qbs of today post big number. Favre was a great player im not goin to disagree there, nobody could say that farve isnt an all time great, i just think that starr was more of a field general than favre. I think that people tend to forget about bart starr on these lists.
elway also only had 6 pro bowlers total on the denver offenses he played on while marino had 30... and favre doesn't even deserve to be in the top five... he has the records because he stuck around for eighteen years and also the records for pass attempts and interceptions... and only one superbowl... the other one he lost to johnny elway
bret favre sucks... john elway is easily the best quarter back ever he was the entire team and took the broncos to three superbowls with the crappiest team... his three leading recievers in 1994 were released and were all cut from the next teams they went to... if he had any of the prolific offenses the other guys on that list had he would have smashed every passing record and already did smash the qb rushing record until mike vick
dude im' a packer fan and i think that's bull montana is 1 favre lost a SB and montana never did that's it right there if any thing tom brady is the most closet to montana so wrong
Some good qaurterbacks in there day(totally different game, specially in pass) Johnny Unitas Fran Tarkenten Terry Bradshaw Roger Staughback Other good modern QB's 6. Troy Aikman 7. Jim Kelly 8. Brett Favre 9. Steve Young 10.Warren Moon
favre? Are you serious? He is way to much of a gambler. He doesnt use his head! Its about winning!Manning should have more superbowls, its just how it played out in playoffs.Monatna has never lost a superbowl and only lost 1 playoff game, and was because of a injury from L. Marshall(didnt finish the game)and a roger craig fumble.Tom Brady is in the top 3,Marino is good, but Manning owns him and has a superbowl.
5# John Elway 2-3 in superbowls but total of 5 appearances My list is based on superbowl wins...no biased crap. Why should QBs be ranked according to stats. Stats dont say if you win or not and isn't the purpose of playing the game to win it all. Im sure many QBs will gladly exchange their passing records for a superbowl ring.
At last somebody who ranks quarterbacks according to winning and not stats, Championships make quarterbacks, not stats! Montana and bradshaw should always top the list, until somebody else wins 4.Its also worth remembering that bradshaw called his own plays throught his career.I think the old time quarterbacks are better than the modern ones. I would rate bradshaw as the greatest field general and montana the greatest pure QB.Also i think Bart Starr is worth a mention also.
ugh elway is so overrated, look at his first 10 years of stats. you cant judge quarterbacks on strictly super bowl wins. it helps dont get me wrong. But big ben has a super bowl win, so does trent dilfer that didnt make them better than manning before he won his superbowl. Troy aikmen had the best team surrounding him of any quarterback ever. Kyle boller could win super bowls if he was handing the ball to emit smith, had 20 minutes in the pocket to throw the ball to his great receivers.
if i had to win one game it would be Joe....Brett is a little too erratic - great game or horrible game. Tom Brady might be 6 even if he never played another down.
Championships make quarterbacks not stats.Dan marino has better stats than montana but nobody would surely say he is better. Farve is an all time great, no argument from me,but to be up there as the greatest i feel stats must be backed up with multiple championships. Thats why i would always rate montana, bradshaw, starr etc above him.Warren moon also had great stats but he isnt up there either.
Favre4ever195 is right, its because Favre has 10 times the guts that any of them EVER had. 350 lb. man runs at Favre he doesn't slide down, he gives a nice stiff arm to the face, all these other quarter backs were, good, but they needed a good team to be good, Favre is ALWAYS good.
Marino was the NFL´s record man for so long, but now hss records belong to Brady, Favre, Manning and Brees, but no one of them are better than Joe Montana, more than a human, less than a God

Switch Montanna with Farve. You know why? Because Brett Farve ddin't go to 5 superbowls, win all of them and be the MVP of 3 of them.

no ok Joe Montana & Dan Marino switch them up

Brett Favre: 1 Super Bowl Joe Montana 3 Super Bowls
Terry Bradshaw: 4 Super Bowls Troy Aikman 4 Super Bowls Steve Young: 2 Super Bowls
Why is Brett Favre so overrated?
85Greg85Jennings85 3 years ago
he holds all the major passing records, you dont have to win super bowls to be great
Favre4ever195 3 years ago

Championships make quarterbacks not stats.Dan marino has better stats than montana but nobody would surely say he is better. Farve is an all time great, no argument from me,but to be up there as the greatest i feel stats must be backed up with multiple championships. Thats why i would always rate montana, bradshaw, starr etc above him.Warren moon also had great stats but he isnt up there either.

@Favre4ever195 hes the all time interception leader too
MrAfdsfsdf 1 year ago
Favre4ever195 is right, its because Favre has 10 times the guts that any of them EVER had. 350 lb. man runs at Favre he doesn't slide down, he gives a nice stiff arm to the face, all these other quarter backs were, good, but they needed a good team to be good, Favre is ALWAYS good.
