@TSR1989RN They were Socialist in the early days of the party before they were a major political force. When Hitler became the leader of the Nazi Party, they pulled a 180 and adopted policies that amounted to government-enforced monopolies/oligopolies.
It wasn't really capitalism, but they did have policies that were specifically designed to keep the rich getting richer (since the upper class were the ones funding them). That alone makes them staunchly anti-Socialist and more to the right.

What happend in the Soviet Union, China and Cuba is called Real Socialism, a kind of government that is not Socialist per say, but says it is. This is more Bachman/Palin type fantasy history (like Paul Reveres ride to warn the British that the British were 'coming').

The Empire wins in the end as they reemerged as the Fel Empire and became the dominant galactic power after winning the Sith-Imperial War. While the Galactic Federation, the reorganized New Republic that was founded by the rebels, was short lived and was forced into exile after losing the Sith-Imperial War. Empire FTW =]
