That's in Nara, where the deers are part of the tourist attractions. I think rather than just smart deers, the speed limit in that area is also slow, and drivers here usually don't run over the first thing they see lol.

This must be in Nara. There, cookiies are sold, which are called 'shika-sembee', and intended to be fed to the deers. The deers are well trained so that they do not attack the women who sell the cookies, but the moment a tourist buys some, the deers come close to the tourist and beg or attack the tourist for it. In the case of this video, the deer might have been interested in the tourists' cookies, and followed them after the crosswalk.

But yea we have tons of deer and fawns :)
