You should to drill with 3 holes (vertically) the backdoor of the case!

Is there any sort of backing plate that allows this to work with the cases? Say if I wanted to mount it on my car and use this remote so I don't record so much more than I should, would it be possible?

@ap2guy u can geht the sceleton bracket ore just mod one off the extra backcowers u geht in the LCD pacege, ore just geht an extra case an modit as u like...
