So your a doctor? And its healthier to leave it there to get worse right? Spread of infection not easily avoided with gloves and proper disposal? And not bleeding and keeping your appetite are so much more important than your health right?
@DKSE09 Actually, you do leave it there and let it fester. THEN go to a Doctor and they will drain it usually with a syringe. This will not spread infection and will destroy minimal amounts of tissue.
the cleanest person can get one because there are many ways of getting it BUT this guy is not that person. hes in a dirty room, popping it without gloves, using papertowel to wipe away the filth, who knows what that touched? he deserves the infection he warns of!
Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA). I had a staph infection and i had 3 different types of MRSA and one type of VRSA (Vancomycin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) all in the one infection
They did a swab of the infection and sent it off to pathology.
But now i have gotten rid of this infection, they treated it with Flucloxacillin in a 24hr slow infusion pump and after about a week i switched to AmoxiClav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid)
I've had two MRSA infections. They fuckin' suck. I had one on my face and it felt like someone was just punching it over and over for about a week. The codeine only helped me fall asleep.
Please tell me you're in a hospital and was just too impatient to wait for the doctor, MRSA is hightly contagious and if you get it on your skin you can contract it. It happened to my friends husband who thought it would be a great idea to pop it.
Does the person that posted this know what MSRA is? Because that could be anything on the dude's leg and you wouldn't know if it was MRSA until it's tested. Also, when you have an infected spot on our skin, you know the first thing they do to help it heal? Pop it and drain it.
You mean to tell me that MRSA (apparently boils with attitudes) are going to become some kind of epidemic? How's that possible? I just had one on my ass, hurt like hell, but I just applied a boil-drawing ointment to it (not easy to do by yourself, let me tell you), and it was gone in about 3 days. What's the big deal? You just need to make sure to keep an eye on it (also not easy to do when it's in the location I mentioned), and keep it washed clean until the drawing ointment does it's job.
@SlightlyXxHDxX MRSA is an antibiotic resistant infection that can be leathal. Shit is pretty common in hospitals but is now becoming more common outside of them. Because we can't kill it with antibiotics it may become an epidemic in the upcoming years.
i popped one on my daughters bottom years ago before knowing about mrsa. she spent a week in the hospital. fortunatly she was ok, but i felt like hell putting her there. she was always happy regardless.
also, a good 87% of those working in the medical profession, also carriers of MRSA.. they too are not dead. Special care is needed to not spread it, like soaps, creams, sprays, proper hygiene..etc dr's have told us many times.. mrsa media has gotten out of control. it's been around for many years and mostly spread IN hospitals.
UGh.. ok, I think all of you are misinformed majority of the MRSA infections people have and go to the DR's for is not deadly, let me repeat that.. NOT DEADLY. It is only deadly to those with weakened immune systems, infants, elderly and pregnant folks. My entire family are carriers of MRSA, obviously we are not dead.. the idea is just not to spread it to anyone once you have .. THAT IS ALL.
So many FOOLS thinking they have a giant ZIT or spider bite, and play doctor but don't wear gloves or use anything sanitary, so they end up spreading the infection even more and to other people. MRSA is no fucking joke! It can kill people!

@mcisintense76 I got it in 08 lost my right arm last year, after becoming septic for the seconed time. I was on IV Vanco for a year and a half. Still in an instant I lost my job, my Career, my hobbie as a violinest. I know what you are saying. People do not understand the dangers of MRSA and that it can kill. I caught it from a patient, even now today still have problems.
and BTW...MRSA can be airborne if aerosolized, but mostly this would have to be from someone who has a MRSA infection within the respiratory tract, not from an absess
I only would do such after putting jodide solution on the skin surface around this 'monster pimple' and then use only alcohol-soaked cloth tissues to pick up what's comin' out of it after opening. Only this is the sterile way of opening. Carry mouth&nose protection! Of course this needs MRSA-specified antibacterial treatment & quarantining afterwards because the bacteria is spread around the body and eventually in blood circulation.
This is nasty, especially the fact it is highly contagious and can kill ya, hell no. He needed a strong course of antibiotics and to be quarantined, smh
@ilychocolate044 MRSA is a type antibiotic resistant staph infection. highly contagious, not to mention it can kill you. I lost my right arm due to it, because I was plased in a room in a hospital with someone that had it. All it takes is an open wound. I was on IV antibiotics for two years trew a PIC line. Finaly after becoming septic for the seconed time, my arm had to go in order to save my life. MRSA kills more people than some cancers.
@quincey123 Hello! Me again. You really do write some shit dont you? 1) Its called a PICC line not PIC. 2) You contracted MRSA because it is EVERYWHERE and you must of already been ill or immunocompromised. 3) "MRSA kills more people than some cancers" - as do lightning strikes and shark attacks because some forms are VERY rare; so a stupid unprovable statement from a supposed man of science. Oh and doctors can spell by the way. Most of the time anyway! ;)
The bleach baths kill bacteria on the skin the epsom salt bring it to a head the Astragalus root extract boost your immune system as well as healing wounds and the olive oil moisturizes your skin. Once your MRSA comes to a head it's best not to pop it I know it's hard because it hurts so bad and it gets so big but keep putting hot compresses on it and allow it to drain on it's own.
I've suffered from MRSA for 8 months now and I was put on antibiotic such as Bactrim, Cephalexin, and vancomycin. As well as taking Hibiclens showers from head to toe and putting mupirocin in my nose which none of these things worked. Now I am on an antibiotic called Clindamycin and have been taking 2 bleach baths a week and 2, 20 minutes epsom salt baths a day. I also drink Astragalus root extract and put Astragalus root extract and olive oil in my lotion. And I have improved alot!
@muahkjs Once you have been colonized, you can not get rid of MRSA, I have been fighting for almost 4 years now, not to mention lost an arm. You have to have continual blood work such as CBC, CRP, ESR, and a tagged WBC scan. I am all to familure with this infetion thanks to a hospitals neglagence. You Also have to have blood cultures X2 to be sure you are clear. Every time you go in the hospital you have to tell them you are a MRSA patient. I lost my job as a Dr. due to all of this.
@quincey123 "Once you have been colonized, you can not get rid of MRSA" Ever heard of Vancomycin? How about Zyvox? "hospitals neglagence"? How about over-prescription and misuse of anti-biotics? You are no doctor sir. And if you were you would be struck off for this appalling, misleading information, arm or no arm. Its crap like this that create the moral panics that surround this issue. Stick to playing with your toy stethoscope and leave the medical advice for the professionals.
@TheMelodious79 Vanco. is toxic, I know this because I was on it for so long. Zyvox is the same, not to mention so many people are allergic to it. Antibiotics are over used and it's the patiens fault. every time they get a caugh or a cold they want something. My immune system was fine. I got it from another patient. My patients are usually dead when I get them but still see the damage they do to themselves.
@quincey123 Yes, Vancomycin is cytotoxic. Well done. But still is a cure for MRSA. Linezolid (Zytox and others) allergy reactions are rare NOT common. Surely it is the Doctors fault if he prescribes the antibiotics not the medically ignorant patient? And why would they prescribe antibiotics for a cold, it’s a virus! YOU ONLY SUFFER ILL EFFECTS FROM MRSA IF YOU ARE ILL OR ARE IMMUNOCOMPRIMISED, NO EXCEPTIONS! Last sentence is gibberish, what do you mean? And why do you pretend to be a Doctor?
Draining the skin infection may be the only treatment needed for a local skin MRSA infection. This procedure should be done at the doctor's office. Do not try to pop open or drain the infection yourself. Keep any sore or wound covered.
once you get mrsa you have it for life meds just calm it down they wont make it go a way for good and if get anyof that bacteria in you mouth or nose you can get internal sores and bleed to death an never no it
That infection looks more worrisome than just a plain abscess - cellulitis is probably complicating it. Cellulitis is an infection of the surrounding deeper skin tissue and can easily spread. Redness, swelling, pain, and warmth are the classical symptoms. Cellulitis requires antibiotic treatment.
Classical cellulitis doesn't have pus, but MRSA cellulitis often does. MRSA must be lanced in addition to taking an antibiotic.
a staph infection or MRSA is highly infective - please, please, please: do not touch others staph furuncles if you don't know how to prevent yourself and others from an staph infection
@callmeshane, Basic medicine doesn't work when treating MRSA! I know this because I've had it. Was in the hospital for 6 days on IV Vancomycin the entire time. The name MRSA meas
@KyWildcat1970 That sucks :( Hopefully they did a sensitivity test on your culture (rather than keep you there needlessly). I was in the hospital 3 days on vancomycin until the sensitivity came back and showed that Bactrim would work, too - and it did. Some are lucky like me, but others aren't - it just depends on your strain of MRSA.
NEVER POP A MRSA! If you know for a fact that it is a staph infection, Put latex gloves on, Use a sterile Q-tip, put Neosporin on Q-tip and apply ointment on the whole staph area, Throw the Q-tip in a trash bag, get a square gauze pad with adhesives place over infected area, throw gloves in trash bag and take to outside garbage can immediately. When done wash hands thoroughly with Dial anti-bacterial soap. Repeat every 4 to 6 hours. Puss will begin to drain on its own. Will be gone in 1 wk.
I messed with mine and ended up with gangrene. They still don't know how I lived--it was an inch from my intestines by the time they tricked me into emergency surgery (by shooting me up with some knock-out drug that I thought was another antibiotic).
But, after a month in the hospital--ICU, shipped to M*yo Clinic for skin grafts, vancomycin in PICC lines, etc.---I'm here.
I'm sure it's not dangerous if you have it tended to properly--I had abscesses properly ER'd every time thereafter,
Amateurs!! take a piece of rusty 1/2inch water pipe. Center it over the head and poud it a few times with the hammer.[empty the pipe between hammerings] Pack would with seasalt. it'll be fine
@callmeshane303 I am, but don't really use a rusty one. the salt dosent care how resistant it is, it kills everything. how do you think its used to cure meat from spoiling..I've pullled 2 of my own teeth and packed em with salt. I was fine.
My cat had a festering abscess under it's bottom lip and jaw. Washed the scab off with salty water and a bit of sulphur, gave it a really good squeeze from way out on the sides and up under - got out about 1/2 a pea of pus before blood flowed.
Then I cleaned the wound a bit more and the packed it with the sulpur and salty water paste - did that 3 times over 3 days - healed up fine.

You are no doctor sir. And if you were you would be struck off for this appalling, misleading information, arm or no arm. Its crap like this that create the moral panics that surround this issue. Stick to playing with your toy stethoscope and leave the medical advice for the professionals.
TheMelodious79 3 weeks ago
@TheMelodious79 Vanco. is toxic, I know this because I was on it for so long. Zyvox is the same, not to mention so many people are allergic to it. Antibiotics are over used and it's the patiens fault. every time they get a caugh or a cold they want something. My immune system was fine. I got it from another patient. My patients are usually dead when I get them but still see the damage they do to themselves.
quincey123 3 weeks ago

MissBrunettelovesyou 1 month ago
That infection looks more worrisome than just a plain abscess - cellulitis is probably complicating it. Cellulitis is an infection of the surrounding deeper skin tissue and can easily spread. Redness, swelling, pain, and warmth are the classical symptoms. Cellulitis requires antibiotic treatment.
Classical cellulitis doesn't have pus, but MRSA cellulitis often does. MRSA must be lanced in addition to taking an antibiotic.

@callmeshane, Basic medicine doesn't work when treating MRSA! I know this because I've had it. Was in the hospital for 6 days on IV Vancomycin the entire time. The name MRSA meas
KyWildcat1970 2 months ago

You obviously don't know shit about mrsa if you think salt will kill it. I'm a nurse, btw.
southernsweetx 2 months ago
I messed with mine and ended up with gangrene. They still don't know how I lived--it was an inch from my intestines by the time they tricked me into emergency surgery (by shooting me up with some knock-out drug that I thought was another antibiotic).
But, after a month in the hospital--ICU, shipped to M*yo Clinic for skin grafts, vancomycin in PICC lines, etc.---I'm here.
I'm sure it's not dangerous if you have it tended to properly--I had abscesses properly ER'd every time thereafter,

when I was 12 I had MRSA from my school and I didn't know on my left arm
my sister accidentally twisted my arm and it popped. The doctor told me if I waited one more day I would lose my arm and be fighting for my life.
I was so freaked out I wouldn't hug anyone just in case

MRSA doesn't always kill, but it won't go away without medicine

Amateurs!! take a piece of rusty 1/2inch water pipe. Center it over the head and poud it a few times with the hammer.[empty the pipe between hammerings] Pack would with seasalt. it'll be fine
bastardchildofmary 2 months ago
@bastardchildofmary
Are you serious?
I mean I have done that to a teaspoon sized hole into a bone from a motorbike crash - packed in metho (undrinkable alcohol) and raw salt....
Healed up fine.
MSRI? I get the feeling that basic medicine would actually work.
callmeshane303 2 months ago
@callmeshane303 I am, but don't really use a rusty one. the salt dosent care how resistant it is, it kills everything. how do you think its used to cure meat from spoiling..I've pullled 2 of my own teeth and packed em with salt. I was fine.
bastardchildofmary 2 months ago
@bastardchildofmary
My cat had a festering abscess under it's bottom lip and jaw. Washed the scab off with salty water and a bit of sulphur, gave it a really good squeeze from way out on the sides and up under - got out about 1/2 a pea of pus before blood flowed.
Then I cleaned the wound a bit more and the packed it with the sulpur and salty water paste - did that 3 times over 3 days - healed up fine.
callmeshane303 2 months ago
@callmeshane303
So if that is an abscess with MSRI - why not hose it out with strong salty water and then pack the wound with salt?
callmeshane303 2 months ago
@callmeshane303 How did your cat not maul your face off during this process?

Cats - like other people - they understand when your helping them, along with being assertive i.e. "Be Still".
It's a trust thing.
