I don't know how to thank you , jazzrolar, for posting this. I had bought the LP for this song and considered it amazing, but having the video.... wow ! Thanks a million and keep it coming.
The more videos showing and preserving the incredible quality and talent of the musicians of other eras, the more chance to influence young guys that unfortunately have been raised on music which seems totally lacking on talent or quality.
The legend Joe Pass showing exactly what the Fender Jaguar was designed for, and the beautiful Jazz style tones you can ring out of them!
Joe gets all the credit he deserves and is a legend; shame Jaguars are so overlooked though; my '66 is AMAZING for Jazz and palys and sounds like cream!
What can be better than this. Never dreamed this video existed until I first saw it here. A treasure. You can see where Pat Martino got some of his inspiration.
Just a correction on the description.... Synanon was a drug rehabilitation community, but it also had other residence who wanted to live a commune style life. Some were court ordered be there after they were given the option of going there or going to jail, but they were not inmates.
@blackjackbeauty According to my information this video originates from a edition of the Jazz USA show (Steve Allen's show with Oscar brown, Jr hosting) from the early sixties, of which a copy depends in the video- and soundarchief of the dutch broadcast corparation. I've never seen the whole show, so I can't tell you of there is anymore.
I personally would like to thank Mr. Ron Clark (Cello Player) for starting the Regional Addiction Prevention program. ....It has definitely changed my life. Love you Mr. Clark
Joe Pass is my all time favorite. Hands down, he is the best guitarest on every level of the instrument.
He has the most creative lines, the best understanding of chord movement and the best solo chord & melody arrangements.
