The origins of the bible cannot be verified, the authors cannot be verified, the stories and genealogies cannot be verified. There are very few first hand witness accounts within the bible, rather it has 3rd person accounts. It contradicts itself in several points and in several messages. It goes against scientific fact. If it cannot tell us where we came from, it can't tell us where we're going.

@Wolfhaines You don't know you're bible that well. The two different genealogies discusses at the start of Matthew and Luke are for both of his parents. Matthew is the maternal, Luke is the paternal. The bible is the inerrant word of God, all of your worldly atheistic books are demon inspired. How can you not believe in a creator? In Jesus's time, a woman could be stoned for sleeping with another man outside of marriage, check Leviticus. Joseph was Jesus's legal parent, and thus treated accordingly. Joseph has a lot of reverence in the bible. Then there's the whole theology about God making a promise and Satan trying to wipe it out, which is why Joseph and Mary are distant cousins (both from the root of David)

In the 1970's there was a big scare campaign by well educated, well informed, well researching expert "scientists" who said the earth was cooling to fast - we were going to have "another" ice age. They kicked up a big fuss and scared everybody. And look what happened! Today we have these experts pointing all the evidence to global warming. There's also conflicting beliefs about the science. It's crap!

I've actually been apostate to nearly all major world religions, and I can only conclude that Christianity is the only relationship that will get you close to God. Shouldn't the bible be evidence enough? Have you read the bible from cover to cover, and meditated on the scriptures that stick out at you? Both are absolutely ridiculous and full of nonsense. The origins of the bible cannot be verified, the authors cannot be verified, the stories and genealogies cannot be verified. There are very few first hand witness accounts within the bible, rather it has 3rd person accounts. It contradicts itself in several points and in several messages. It goes against scientific fact. If it cannot tell us where we came from, it can't tell us where we're going.
