This sounds SOOOOOOOO much better than the Frank Sinatra version. Michael's voice is not only smoother, it is richer, fuller than Sinatra's. (MHO, folks, don't flame me!) The mix was very good, perhaps that is what makes this sound so lush. At any rate, I love it.
thats good musician. take success-proven songs from people like Frank Sinatra and make money with it. even if it sounds not as good as Frank at all. respect. does he actually has only one own ? He doesn't actually have a own voice .. sounds like ... anybody. buah
The more I see of Mrsuperbombastik's posts, the less impressed I become. Although clearly an old man, he states that everyone connects with their audience. Which pretty much shows he/she listens to CD's rather than watching someone live. Someone like Joe Cocker, Leona Lewis, Gabriella Cilmi, and many more acts DO NOT CONNECT WITH THEIR AUDIENCES.
I Love it when so called youtube musicians with no sucess call out famous singers for being average. Jealousy?
I think its great someone is still doing this stuff, but I don't really get his level of success. He's kinda smooth, but there is no intensity or swing like Sinatra had. He sorta rides pleasantly through the song, but its like reading a sentence with no punctuation. I don't feel that moment where he makes the song his. Sorry.
@AllthatJazz62 : I've heard a lot of his stuff already. The tone of his voice is distinctive I'm just not a huge fan of how he "attacks" the songs sometimes. I much prefer Harry Connick, still, Buble is okay.
@MrSuperbombastik wow, I always thought the same way what you just pointed out. but he seems very popular, and that made me feel bad to even feel that about him. on the other hand, he just made sinatra even more over him
Apparently you don't know anything about music then. If you wan't to understand why Michael Buble is probably the most successful male 'singer' on the circuit then go and watch him live. He's not just a voice, he's also a really good entertainer who actually connects with his audience.
But hey, what do I know? i've only seen him live twice..........
@Th3BlackReaper : Actually I'm a musician and I have decades of experience with jazz and classical music; my mother was a concert violinist since the 50s, and my children are performing musicians. Everybody on the strip "connects" or they wouldn't be there. My whole point is that "technically" and "artistically" I find him to be mediocre. He's a novelty, and not nearly the best. Seeing him twice doesn't change that, it only exemplifies how pedestrian and undemanding your tastes are.
@Th3BlackReaper L: so clearly you either cant read or you just wanna argue cause you have nothing better to do. In terms of his range, tone, vibrato, and just general "attack" of the songs he does I find that he is sufficient but not to the level of the greats he is often compared to. In fact, I believe those comparisons occur merely because of the songs/music he performs rather than his talent. This is a subjective opinion and I have stated it previously.
Unbelievable. Buble's range is pretty much the same as Sinatra's. You don't need to be a musical genius to work that out. Tone? Lolz. There was me thinking Buble's tone was pretty much his best attribute, but I guess you're right. Buble's tone is crappy. His voice certainly doesn't suit standards, or ballads.
You didn't even answer my question. Tell me how Michael Buble is poor from a technical standpoint?
@Th3BlackReaper : Okay listen to this video at the 31 second mark. Its weak and just vaguely flat. I NEVER heard Sinatra weak or flat during his prime. The whole song arrangement is strange. Now go find a salt shaker to argue with. And for the record, AGAIN, I didn't say he was horrible and I did say it was just my subjective opinion. Stop trying to justify the fact that you paid twice to see him. If it pleased you, fine.
Weak and flat. Funny. at 31 he's singing in the right key, wasn't flat or sharp on the note and was singing softly. You know, you don't need to sing a song as powerfully as you can. Oh yeah and this wasn't even Michael Buble's 'prime' either.
And you still haven't actually answered the question on how Michael Buble is a poor singer in your opinion FROM A TECHNICAL STANDPOINT? Unless you believe vibrato and range = technical ability? Do you?
@Th3BlackReaper : okay, whatever you say. you don't want to hear anything other than yourself. so let me make this easy for you....your an asshole...a tedious, pedantic, nay saying nay bob...go die .....alone...I'm sure you're used to being alone with your need to be correct...fuck off; with all due respect of course. Go listen to your bubbly albums and dont forget the bottle of oil for your tin ear and the spoon;cause you clearly need to have culture fed to you. {blocked}.
HAHA. You can't even speak in the correct grammar. Gotta love keyboard warriors when they rage out.
Technical ability = pronounciation/posture/control etc etc etc. Not frikkin' vocal range and tone. This guy clearly isn't a musician or he/she would know these things.
Michael Buble just might be the reincarnation of Frank Sinatra. I'm not saying he is as good as Sinatra, but his voice now and the way he moves on stage or very similar.
@jreily88 I would normally disagree with somthing like that, because I love Michael; but you're right. This is not at all his best vocal performance. Sorry Michael:(
@ozgunakalin Oh, don't give up on him now! This does not complment his voice at all. Try a different song! Like...."Feeling Good" or "Come Fly With Me" (Feeling Good is not as good as Bobby's version and Come Fly With Me is not as good as Sinatra's but it is not at all bad.) :)
He has grown so much since then, while still trying to keep the standards going. He is a song interpreter, and much more. It's the whole package, talent, looks, and PERSONALITY!
he sings it slower than frankie which is not supposed to be this way it's supposed to sung a little faster but none the less he's still a great singer.......... :)
Hey Fuck the drama and the comparisons and just enjoy the man and his music. If you don't like him take a hike. The man is a great singer in the genre of the greats. He has a gift. He's not trying to be anybody but himself. So fuck off with the drama asscaps.

his voice isn't that good. He'll never of course reach sinatra's level. Its not bad as long as you don't compare it to the original, then you'd be in for a shock!
This was years ago when he first started. A self produced cd. He never wanted to be Sinatra. He just sang the songs he and his grandpa loved. He did have a long way to go, but check out how he's grown. Try his "Call Me Irresponsible" cd.
Well..he does sing well...but...come on...you can'[t compare his voice to the master Sinatra....Also, he's simply re creating (or trying to) Sinatra's sound. He'll find his own voice and style as he matures, but...he's got a way to go before he hits Sinatra's level.
M8, he'll never hit Sinatras lvl because he has different style. He sings ok, I don't mind if he sings songs that he and his grandpa loved. It's beautiful. But he would be better in pop music because he has this pop influenced voice. You can not compare todays pop with jazz 50 years ago
Este tema no lo había escuchado, es tan bueno como todo lo que el canta. Realmente es lo que siempre digo, todo esta en cuanto amor y paión pone en todo cuanto hace
Goodness..he would have been like 21 when he sang this. I love it. It's kind of sad that noone can get copies of his independent albums. I really want a few of the songs on them. He's rereleased some of the songs like Dream and the Spiderman cover but I'd still love to own the originals. Someone put one of the independent CD's up for bid in amazon and bidding is at over a hundred. Not bad considering the guy probably got it for free. lol
He sounds alright but Frank sings it so much better, you can't even compare his version to the orginal. {making a ouch face} I don't care for it :(....Lighter note he does have a nice voice
He's singing Ella's and Frank's versions.

there isnt an educated musician alive who would even attempt to argue the mediocre buble compares to Sinatra.
so all you people who comment otherwise really dont understand singing.
