  • "Don't need no lie detector to see I'm for real." I love the lyrics to this song...simply soulful...music is missing this today!

  • Please tell me who sings this song: "It's no secret, no, that my baby loves me so.. and I wouldn't trade myyyy giiiirl for nothing in this world, no I won't... She just blows my mind, she makes me feel so fine... and it's good to know she feels the same, she told me so, yeaaaah.

(chorus) It's been so long, since I felt so riiight. It feels so niiiice being with you, being with you!"

Sounds like a song from the 80's, with a young, black male singer, and with female singers in chorus. Thanks

  • @rtothemutha i think that maybe a soul 4 real song....

  • @sultanese hmmmmmm... I don't think they had female background singers tho'.... and couldn't find proof of them singin' that song :(

  • now that i'm older & can comprehend the words, this is one of them "baby we need 2 go 2 the car, bathroom, or pull over there now" cuts! LMAO

  • when i say this use to be my jam..this use to be my jam...had a long juicy jheri curl that i had just made the mistake of washing and had to use four bottles of snap back! took me a week to get my hair back to its greasy, sloppy, look. good times

  • NOW THIS IS REAL MUSIC...I PUT THIS AGAINST THE MUSIC TODAY ALLDAY!

  • I WOULD LIVE TO FIND THE 1 PERSON WHO GAVE THHIS SONG A THIMBS DOWN. I WOULD BEAT HIM IN THE FACE WITH A BAG OF NICKELS!

  • when music was music.

  • How did we go from this (music that touches our Soul) the today's music that assaults our ears?

  • @bee52mitch LMBO! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST COMMENTS I'VE READ!

  • When you look at this video, the groove of David Townsend is reminiscent of his true essence. David...I miss you madly and will always remember our years in Jersey. You were a great musician, a funny guy and a wonderful friend. Peace to Bernard and Mr. David 'Pic' Conley.

  • this era of music is food for the soul....you can never go wrong with surface...

  • Would love to watch Surface sing their oldies but goodies on a special R&B show or something.. =) Beautiful ballads. The "2000" era is digitally computerized. Waiting for a new artist to submerge like these great classic groups again!

  • this is the one

  • This Is one of my favorite videos cuz not only was it filmed in New Orleans (my home town) but my dad is in the vid too.Thats so cool!!!

  • The 80's were great but the preceeding 70's were even better. but this is what we (from the Caribbean) call Rent - a- Tile music. For the un initiated that means that when you and your partner are dancing this song your feet both occupy the same tile for the entire song with only your hips moving in slow rhythm to the song.

  • The 80's were great but the preceeding 70's were even better.

  • Man I wish they made music like this thesedays. Its sad that when it comes to music that one has to go back in time to enjoy the present.

  • This was the jam when I was in basic traing back in '89. I was stationed at Ft.Sill,OK and when we could listen to our walkman, this is the cassette everyone had. Good times indeed go by fast. Drew,MS ......wzup John Sanders in da house

  • GOOD MUSIC COMES A DIME A DOZEN!!! I WAS YOUNG WHEN THEY WERE OUT, BUT I REMEMBER THIS MUSIC!!!!!

  • It is such a shame what passes for music these days. In the days of Surface, love was something to treasure. How did the music come to the standards of today? I miss this kind of music. Thank you for posting and thank you Surface and so many other groups that expressed love in its highest meanings.

  • this is on repeat when i'm in the whip

  • Remember these days, man I truly miss them

  • i was in the 6th grade when this came out. one of my favorite childhood songs. wishing i had a girl to dedicate this song to on the radio LOL!!!

  • I agree I was 6 years old when this song came out sighssss. I still remember the words

  • @pieldeazucarmorena unfortunately you will never be able to do that because Mr. Townsend (guitar) has died. I am not sure how long ago. But he is gone..soooo sad.
