actually its ten years after the first and you are the very first big daddy prototype that uses plasmids and is free thinking

so you can choose to protect the little sisters or harvest them cuz you still need adam cuz you have to fight the big sister which is supposedly the first little sister

she goes up to the surface and takes little girls from seaside towns and turns them to little sisters so they can harvest the adam from dead bodies but she can also harvest it too with her huge ass needl

she also uses the needle to attack you but its primary use it to obtain adam and it gets directly injected into her blood stream making her unbelievable stronger than you could have ever imagined in the first game so this game is gonna be epic even though the story was DONE when you finished bioshock 1 but im still getting this fucking game

and when you can play you can use plasmids and your drill or rivet gun at the same fucking time

i dont think spanish would make sense either but i would put up with it. i agree with what u say about city of children but part of what makes that is the old camera and so some of the seepiness will be lost in a bioshock version. i think it will end up looking more like the world in silent hill after the siren goes...

That would be alright for me. In the context of the story, the world would seem real because (at least I think) the story should be told in as realistic a fashion as possible, and with an immediate feel. There are directors who adapt old camera techniques, but for me it always looks like a parody of films from that age rather then an homage.

i loved the game but i simply dont think it will work as a film. in 2 hours you couldnt make it freaky enough and set up a good story line, things that made the game amazing like the different abilities wont work on the big screen. if they do make it into a film then it has to be done by guillermo del toro (orphanage, pans labyrinth) coz he makes things eerie quite well. i would put up with the subtitles if he did it...

It wouldn't make any sense to film it in Spanish because it's set in 1950s America! I very much hope it will work though. Are you familiar with City of Lost Children? That's a perfect example of plenty of atmosphere in two hours and a good template I think for a Bioshock film.

Gore Verbinski, the guy behind the atmospheric Pirates movies should do a good job I think; just the right balance between humor and horror. I still believe game movies can work with passion, inspiration, and care.

yeah, Gladiator was really good, and so was the aviator. but if they screw up the 'darkness' aspect by trying to replicate sweeney todds look than it'll all go down hill. but than again the only thing i liked about sweeney todd was the look.

Well, he only wrote the screenplay for Sweeney, and most of that was written already, so there's still hope! Since Verbinski is directing (confirmed) though the look of the movie will likely by more like Pirates, probably closest to Pirates 2. The scenes on the Dutchmen really remind me of Bioshock, with their faded grandeur, rusted metal and slime, and of course squirming, snarling 'splicers' (sea-pirates).

Yeah. But, really to be honest, I'm a filmmaker/screenwriter/actor, and the play of Sweeney Todd was amazing on Broadway, and the script was already written, and not much was changed, so I'm not really sure how anyone could mess that up. But Verbinski is absolutely amazing.

Well sure! City of Ember is definitely an example of the kind of backgrounds Bioshock needs: majestic, rusted, melancholy, and very interesting.

Bruckheimer has a generally good rep with me. I actually liked nearly all of his movies when most of the critics hated them. He's about action and visuals primarily. But occasionally he does a great job on story as well. We'll see.

As long as he doesn't make a repeat of Pirates 3, I think he would be a good choice. The second pirates movie especially had a great atmosphere of dread and decay. I loved the introduction of Davy Jones, starting underwater. As long as he keeps the license, Uwe won't be able to butcher another franchise!

Wow, very good. You're right of course, BioShock could make an awesome movie... as lone as Uwe Bowel doesn't get his mits on it.

Don't worry about it not being very long, Trailers are meant to be short. If you want though you could probably check up more movies with the same kind of general environment as the Game and make it a bit longer. You don't have to, but in case you ever decide to make another one of these.

All in all, Big Daddies rule, great Trailer, 5 stars!
