One of the three functions of marriage is Prajaa, the progeny for perpetuation of one's family. A homosexual couple cannot procreate, and thus cannot be married... as a homosexual doesn't one act lustfully since marriage cannot be had naturally - I am so tired of people who view their religion in one way as is the most convenient for them to do as they most please whilst acting or speaking righteously.
there is lots of idolatry in the holy bible because the christians are taliking about stories that never happened, just like the movie called andromeda or sar trek, jesus christ was an idol invention.
I can respect the Krishna perspective on sex, but I am sick, tired and sorry of hearing (from Christianity too) the arguments of "we might get an STD - oh look, HIV/AIDS is mentioned here - or, we might produce an orphan"! Even the Krishna Conscious parents can die and leave an orphan! This is about trying to "rule" by fear, and God is not a God of fear. He is a God of love, and smiles whenever people show their love for one another.
You say in your comments to have sex in marriage is ok but shouldn't we regulate that also apart from when we only want children. I would like to no what is a a acceptable restricted amount.
This Krishna consciousness movement accepts different levels of devotees. The best is complete celibacy because then we can concentrate Fully on God. Marriage is for those who cannot control the sex urge and marriage was designed by the sages to help us control our urges and is a license for sex. Married life can sometimes be distracting though, because we become attached to our children and spouse and we have to spend energy on making money etc.
We can chant and think of Krishna, no matter what stage we are at. Many of the greatest Vaishnvas were married. It all depends on what works for the individual. We have to just try our level best. If you can be celibate, it's good, but if your mind is always disturbed, and we are distracted from thinking of Krishna, then marriage may be favorable. The husband and wife can help each other in spiritual life and also guide their children nicely.
Now I'm curious. How do you define "illicit sex", is it any kind of non-marital sex or just the ones that make unwanted kids and spread diseases? And if recreational sex with a condom is also a sin, then I'm curious on what the negative results will be(bad karma?).
Good questions! There are varying degrees of sin. The most pure form of sex is sex with ones spouse for the purpose of producing Krishna conscious children. Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita that "I am sex according to religious principals" If you just have sex for fun with your spouse, you can go to heaven. Abortion is sinful and Outside of marriage is forbidden.
Correction: If you just have sex for fun with your spouse, you "CANT" go to heaven. Sorry, SuChandrakantas, just didn't wanna have any else confused. Hare Krsna. (Your videos are ever so beautiful).
For the purpose of procreation. Or if the men remembered Krsna at the final moment. I'd be amused if it turned out to be some other explanation, but again, my knowledge of the scriptures doesn't extend to that of yours, and if so, pardon my last comment.
Heaven is not where devotees want to go because it is temporary and has defects, so I don't think it is surprising that one would go to heaven, if one has sex with ones spouse. The defects of heaven are:
1. It's temporary
2. There is envy there
3. There is laziness
4. There is illusion
correct me anyone if I didn't remember right.....but it's something like that.
I was thinking "Goloka Vrndavan" when you said heaven, and perhaps that was where my question was. Yes, regulated sex with spouse is fine enough, and may lead to the "temporary" heaven, again, as I speak heaven, it is not Gokula that I'm thinking. But getting back to Krsna is almost impossible if you keep humping the other half for the most half of your life. :P
Thankyou for your reply. I don't mean to criticise devotees. However, if a devotee is chanting 16 rounds a day, singing in bhajans and thinking of Krishna and the maha mantra constantly what use does he have of abstaining from coffee or eating an onion? Prabhupada always stressed that all the rules and principles in the vedas were superceded by just two: always remember Krishna and never forget Krishna. The four regs may help, but are they necessary to be with Krishna? I would argue no.
The essential principal of Bhakti is "tad vidhi pranipatena pariprasnena sevaya....." That means we must surrender to a Spiritual master, ask questions and serve him, because he can impart all wisdom unto us. The spiritual master is self realized. Therefore, if he/she thinks it is not good for our bhakti progress to eat onions or what ever, then we just have to follow that. Then we never get confused. We never have to speculate about whatever we find in the scriptures etc. Guru is shakshat hari!
Prabhupada said that, in the same time He also stressed the importance of following the four regs, he said the last many more times then the first, for excample at every single initiation. I wouldnt like to chant, read or preach with onion or garlic breath emanating from me & my skin and home, smelling of onion or garlic or Perform any devotional activity, being speeded up by coffee, Its not only disrespectful to the Lord, but also affects consciousness negatively by increasing tama guna.
Vyasdev recorded the information about the 4 regulative principals more than 5,000 years ago. At that time, Kali yuga had just begun. Parikshit Maharaj was touring his kingdom and came upon a terrible sight. Kali was dressed like a king and beating a cow. Parikshit was going to chastise Kali, but Kali begged for mercy. The 4 regulations were introduced here. Kali could stay in those four sinful activities.
With respect, could it not be argued that the four regulative principles were implemented around the turn of the last century by a set of vaishnava gurus? No ISKCON devotee has ever been able to show me that the four regs are necessary in order to return back to Godhead. True, they may help you to not forget Krishna and maybe remember him, but if you can always think of Krishna and break the four regs will Krishna refuse to take you from the material world? Maybe I am just a lost devotee.
Pure devotees have completely controlled senses. As far as devotees who don't fallow the four regulative principals, if they think of Krishna all their life, they will eventually give up sense gratification, (be it in this life, or the next) The present acharyas give the perfect sadhan for success in Krishna Consciousness. Vyasdev has written, "Where there are these 4 sins, there is Kali." Our present Acharyas support this.

There is a place in scripture that says if a man has sex with his wife, he goes to heaven.
