God bless the 15,000 protestant civilians driven from their homes in Londonderry over the past 40 years. Their suffering at the hands of the IRA will never be forgotten.
okay, i never write comments like this, but srsly who, what kind of man can dislike a song and a video like this? seriously, those 4 people have no hearts.
i must say we do know how to party and the traditional; music is brilliant and we sing it from our hearts folk like the dubliners express with words how ireland lives and we notice the changes doire has went threw over the past years life's for living folks so liive it to the full
I am putting my little girl to bed with this music, she loves them. I don't need to be Irish to hear the beauty in these songs and neither does she. But they do need to be Irish to make it authentic. I think the irish are loved across the world for their fiery yet gentle temperaments and their wild partying manners!
Tá mé na héireann agus tá mé bródúil go bhfuil amhrán seo amhrán is fearr agus sé deas a fheiceáil eile Na tíre tá ár gcroí ró- !(I'm Irish and I'm proud this song is the best and it nice to see other country's have our hearts too !! Go maith !!
its cool how all of you are from other countries but have irish hearts, but as for me, i am an american with an american heart and these songs are still some of the best i've heard
@telboyirish Its was wrote about growing up in Derry you muppet. "In the early morning the shirt factory horn
called women from Creggan, the Moor and the Bog" I do not think the Creggan is Banbridge. "There was music there in the Derry air" - Also do not think Banbridge is Derry.
At first - I'm not english or irish. second of all - why do u listen to these songs if u don't like them. 4 me (I'm polish, if u know where Poland is...) these r great example of spirit and talent..... so, quoting other irish song - "bugger off, u bastard bugger off..". Anyway I bet u're an American so u don't know a sh*it... so well... bugger off
@urbankepa i'm irish and that shit "up the ra" aint welcome on these videos....please don't ruin these irish songs :) and why you assume i'm american? i'm from dublin ( east wall) if you wanted too know where about so please don't say i'm american when i'm not.
this song pierces you right trough the skin until it reaches the core of the soul and everytime you listen, you know the writer of this song has lived 10 times as much as a normal person did,and he putted it all in these five minutes,it are people like these who should be rememberd with statues and paintings NOT the ones who destroyed the jewels of the world like this one
note there are no skimpy dancers and no flashing lights to make them look good. what you are looking and listening too is pure beautifull tallent and a inner goodness of soul and storytelling. that is what music is all about, music is about envolking a memory, telling a story, not about relying on your personal appearance to sell a song. fuck music today.xxxxxx
The best year in my life was when I lived in Dublin - loved every bit of it.
A culture full of atmosphere but also so much missery and it looks like rough times are ahead again for the green island.
Keep up the good spirit, and stop chasing rich and fortune in a snap (celtic tiger) it has not given you anything to be proud of. The arts of Ireland, history and culture thats what the irish should treasure, that what makes a country rich.
The ones who voted this video bad, they do not have a heart for music, this is REAL music, if you vote thumb down for this, then dont frickin vote any music, because if you dont like this, you dont like music at all xD

@SuperLanga1 thanks mate.very kind of you regardless of where you are from.and yes,its about time for peace. PEACE.i cant even comprehend it.but it sounds grand.it is time for peace people.
I`m a norwegian man who loves the irish music, and of course the irish people. The irish are such a genuine people, and I think the irish folk music compares to the norwegian folk music in many ways. Thank you Irish people for what you are and thank for the music. You should always be proud to be an irishman.
The genius of the songwriting... Who can listen to this and not feel a thing? Music like this has no boundaries. I wish modern songwriters outpoured as much of their love and soul into their songs. God bless Ireland.
Truely touching words... i moved far away from the town i grew up in.. this song in a way reminds me that no matter where you call home.. the place you came from will always be HOME! Homesick now i find myself homeward bound to see it one more time before it is lost and gone forever!
this one always brings tears to my eyes ..im from Holland don't understand the troubels you Irisch are going trough ..all i can say i Love you i truely do
My english teacher started with this song our chapter about Ireland and the history of Ireland. He sang it very well and now I love this song. I had to cry because it's such a wonderful song.
This is a beautiful song and has a special place in the hearts for all Dubliners, but also for anyone who has left their home only to return to a "different" town can relate. I am one of those people. Oh how my neighborhood in New York City changed so much in only one year and only for me to wish that it was the way it used to be when I still lived there. You maybe say that I'm just a naive 15 year old, but this music is powerful and brought back great memories that almost put me to tears.
This is one of the most beautiful stories in a song I've ever heard. It touches so deep inside me that tears just pops out. I am Norwegian but love, and value, Irish music and history very much.
always reminds me of my younger days (70s) dads stories about his upbringing did not appericate them, but do now big time... miss him and his stories xx

I've just spent two weeks in ireland. It's a fabulous country and i love it! I also love the dubliners, and this song ist just great! Derry is just beautiful! <3 <3 <3 Greetings from austria!
when i went to see them at the royal concert hall in glasgow, i was the youngest in the audience by far. i must've been seven. im sixteen now and i have loved them since then. infact, i loved them when they last played at cambridge folk festival. they were fantastic live and i would give them my right arm to see them once more.

Hm...strange. This song makes me sad in a way. Everytime i find something i really like and it was made by old chaps like the Dubliners i think of the time when they are gone. Will there will be new "Dubliners" in my generation? Will we be able to sing to these songs when we are old ourselfs with people of our age? I get a bit melodramatic here but that song really touched me. Greetings from Germany...love irish folk music!
@marhahus1 What are you talking about?? None of the "small" nations of Europe never initiated a war, cause they were simply to small to attack there bigger and stronger neighbors... Croatia never initiated a war...
I am not of any type of European descent but I cant help but a shed a tear to this song, The Dubliners <3

The lyrics could learn todays youth a lot about real values, and the pride to belong.

@marhahus1 What are you talking about?? None of the "small" nations of Europe never initiated a war, cause they were simply to small to attack there bigger and stronger neighbors... Croatia never initiated a war...
