i bought this one 5 years ago in red with the turbolook rims. I enjoyed it so much that sometimes I miss it. Now I´m the owner of a Cayman, but the experiences I had on my Boxter...... Enjoy the car

I have silver and it looks great. Black paint on Boxster doesn't as nice IMO.

silver is also easier to clean. Scratches won't be that obvious neither.

I have both black and silver cars at the same time. Black is nice when it is clean clean. Boxster can't go in to car wash machine, so if you get black, you better get ready to wash it often, also, flying rocks on freeway left a lot of marks on my black car, silver is much easy to maintain and not showing even it is slightly dirty.

Great car! Unless you really wring it out on a regular basis, I think the Boxster S is the better car given it is a convertible - nothing better than wind in the hair and you hear the engine better.

I'd have to agree with him. The Cayman rocks, but a drop-top is always more fun. Drive a Viper Coupe and then drive a Viper SRT-10 and you'll choose the STR guaranteed. But everyone has their preference. I'm just a sucker for the sun and the wind in my face.

My father just picked up a 2005 Boxster S, midnight blue, with something like 20k miles on it. Porsche certified it for 2 years.. Looking forward to driving it, but he lives on the East Coast, and I live on Maui. He previously had a 2001 Boxster S, and most recently a 350Z roadster. Fun cars.

Still the best looking Porsche. My wife and I ALMOST bought one, but we needed a primary car that could run well in winters. I've heard Boxsters fare well in Toronto winters, but even so, I wouldn't want to ruin it with all the salt damage. Plus it literally sits on the pavement, so any big snowstorm and I'll be waist-deep in snow!! I heard of the window-drop problem too, where the windows freeze sometimes and won't drop, so you can't open the door. I plan to get one in 1-2 years though!!!

What is the wind noise like from the canvas roof, because i have a SLK with a tin roof, i really love the boxster and the canvas roof noise put me of because of the old canvas roof cars i have and the wind noise was terrible!

I hardly notice because the enginee is loud, it took me a while to get use to it. The new model is pretty good, I not much wind noise to my standard. I almost brought the SLK, but don't want to have two MB cause the inside looks pretty much the same.

Mine has 130 on it. I drive it like a mad man... leather is getting a little scuffed in its old days :P but as long as you change the oil and use 91 or above octane the S.O.B will run forever. Even with 130 k on it it goes like mad.

Very nice. Keeping it stock? The High-Flow Intake is a fun upgrade that is cheap. Adds a small hp and torque boost and it sounds really nice under load.

Hi, chaos276, your are right, for 2006 model, standard Boxster is 240 HP, Boxster S is 280 HP. For the later model, the S is up to 295 HP.

I have a 2001' Porsche Boxster and is a great car and never have problem with it. For a great price. The Porsche cost me 20,000. I also like more the design from the Boxster than the 911. 911 is more expensive and is not like my style. I love my Boxster.

Having owned 2 porsches, they are fantastic cars and fun.

I now have a Crown Vic police interceptor engine I use to travel for business (26MPG highway).

A friend of mine is an attorney and had a Boxster. We went side by side one day and I ate him up. No contest at all. There is no substitute for a big American V-8 in performence or pure sound when floored(like no other).

He has since sold the Boxster he was so upset.

He hasn't contacted me since "the incident".

First time Porsche owner and absolutely love it. Best handling car I've ever driven. Love the looks it gets. Mine is guard red with tan interior. The only thing I don't like is that I live in Canada and can't drive it year round. I watched the TOP GEAR show that the guy was talking about. The author loves Mercedes and the Boxter was going against a Mercedes. Funny thing was he was bitching about the Mercedes driving experience but praised the Porsches. Mercedes had bigger motor big deal.
