The American pit bull is a derivative, or sub species of the breed. breed originally to take down large bulls in packs of three or four. I understand the breed, I've owned several. A large male Wolverine goes about 70 pounds, more than a match for a single dog of similar weight. Wolverines have been around 4.5 millions years, had they not been tough, they would have died out. We'll agree to disagree.

I've seen pits slung through the air and bashed into fence post by bulls. In fact there a video I saw on youtube of two pits that got the heads stomped flat by a BIG bull. It's a DOG, not some super killing machine. It's this stupid view by people that has caused the breed much of the trouble today. It is DOG, treat it as such.

This made the breed what it is today, many fine specimens still exist today with all the tools needed to get the job done. Bulls often went down from just plain exhausting after a 2 hour struggle. I saw that video too it tells ya if you read that the dogs were shot by farmers It was after hurricane katrina.Not killing machines athletic machines.

To beat a wolverine you need an animal that is willing to stay in the fight, and be just as power, fierce and wild. @surleyguru Black bears perhaps. Blackies are pretty timid most of the time. Try a Grizzly or Kodiak sometime, they don't climb trees and the likelihood of one running from a dog is remote. All bears are not created equal. No such thing as K-9 perfection, especially in a man made breed. Pits are just dogs with traits that need to be addressed with a firm hand and constant training, like the larger, even more aggressive Presa Carnario. Anyway.

The apbt inparticular is so athletic and mobile that it would have no trouble outmanuvering a bear of any species. Thats all im saying I have seen it all before. A German Shepard would likely do no more than irritate the Wolverine real bad and die for the it's trouble. Wolverines are in permanently bad modes. Confrontations just piss them off.
