I always liked this series, particularly when he would spend an hour extolling the virtues of some art movement, then spend the last five minutes ripping into it. Terrific dry English humor.
@ChristopherGurin I love this too Christopher. And he did indeed have wonderful humor. The American tourist takes his tour through the museums, sees the wonders of European art, and gushes about how wonderful it all is. Gee whiz.....Oh golly gee! On the other hand, Lord Clark knows what's truly great and what's glossy trash. And then he casts his critical eye over the truly great and tells us its shortcomings. Wonderful!....The academic at work.
