This message is AMAZING. My dog bru, we got him when he was a year old. Three years ago he got diabetes. Dogs have a MUCH shorter lifespan with diabetes (max is usually 3 years) He gets shots twice a day. He is 10 years old an is kickin butt! Dogs are forever.
My husband gave me a kitten for my 21st birthday and to this day (6 years later) she is still the best present I have ever received. She lights up every day and I cannot imagine life without her.

It's pretty terrible but true. Go to the spca website you'll actually see a pattern between the years when cats, dogs, chinchillas and other animals are given up. I'm not saying all animals are given up for this reason but I'm sure the ages are not just a coincidence. I'm 15 and I can't wait till I can quit my stupid laboring construction job so I can go work at the spca, I would volunteer here for no pay just to know these animals get loving homes.

It breaks my heart to see animals abused. When I am older I want to work with ASPCA too. My cat is from a shelter. She is a very, very sweet kitten and it makes me want to cry when I hear about other cats, dogs, and other sweet animals being abused by people, and left to live life without any care. i think basicly what the video is trying to say is, when you get a pet, you have a responsibility and a comitment. and after you get older you still have to be deticated to that comitment, you can't just put the animal to sleep because you don't have time for it anyore

I completely agree on your point, however, this video is simply showing what is a common occurence during the holidays especially. Animals aren't "toys". I just bought a Bully for my husband for Christmas and she made a wonderful gift-but for children, I think it's very different. They do have a tendency to lose interest once the novelty has worn off.
as a teenager myself, i have to disagree with the fact that children tend to loose intrest in something after the novelty wears off. i think it depends on weather you love the animal enough to treat it as your own child. i understand what your saying though. most children are to dependent on something to care for something else.
Ppl arent putting animals b4 their own race. They are just saying they want to help the poor innocent animals out that are being abused or neglected and find them homes and start new lives! It feels even better to adopt them! Well for me I found my 3 cats on the streets from being neglected and I adopted my other dog from a different country who was abused and lost his eye from a gun <=[. All im saying is we want to help animals out!
You have to reimburse the shelter for things like shots, neuter/spay, etc. to adopt a pet. I worked at a shelter a few years ago and dogs cost about $80 but it could have changed since then.

Thats such a sad commercial!!!!! Man if i had a dog that cute I wouldn't leave it alone, i'd be playin with it all the time. My hubby bought a Shetland Sheepdog at 8wks old he was a cute little booger but he's a yr old now and our kids kinda lost intrest in him as much as when we first brought him home.

This video was so sad, but its true. Some children do do that! Once they get bored with the animal, they won't want it anymore. It happens all the time. On my opinion this commercial shows everything. It's basically saying Animals arent toys you cant just play with them then when you're bored put them away or throw them away !

I know, but it's up to the parents to teach their children responsibility. I know lots of kids who neglect their animals even though they ask for more when the pet dies. It's sad because the parent's buy them another one.

i think basicly what the video is trying to say is, when you get a pet, you have a responsibility and a comitment. and after you get older you still have to be deticated to that comitment, you can't just put the animal to sleep because you don't have time for it anyore

please do not put people down over animals-God made humans to be elevated above animals and to have dominion-of course that is a loving stewarding dominion but I get sick of groups downing their own human race over animals!!!!

I completely agree on your point, however, this video is simply showing what is a common occurence during the holidays especially. Animals aren't "toys". I just bought a Bully for my husband for Christmas and she made a wonderful gift-but for children, I think it's very different. They do have a tendency to lose interest once the novelty has worn off.

as a teenager myself, i have to disagree with the fact that children tend to loose intrest in something after the novelty wears off. i think it depends on weather you love the animal enough to treat it as your own child. i understand what your saying though. most children are to dependent on something to care for something else.

Ppl arent putting animals b4 their own race. They are just saying they want to help the poor innocent animals out that are being abused or neglected and find them homes and start new lives! It feels even better to adopt them! Well for me I found my 3 cats on the streets from being neglected and I adopted my other dog from a different country who was abused and lost his eye from a gun <=[. All im saying is we want to help animals out!

You have to reimburse the shelter for things like shots, neuter/spay, etc. to adopt a pet. I worked at a shelter a few years ago and dogs cost about $80 but it could have changed since then.
