Check your history. Shay's rebellion was 1786 not 1886. Shay's rebellion was caused by the new American govt not honoring their war debt. Taxes were due and the farmers revolted against land grabs. It was a local matter, not a national matter in Massachusetts. It led to improved bankruptcy laws.
