Hey how you holding out against the bad weather in the philipines? Haven't they declared a state of emergency? Sounds so horrible! Just hope you're ok... XO
oh, do you mean the typhoons and such?(like typhoon ondoy..?)
well, currently the majority of us are doing fine. though there are still some who still haven't completely recovered, we are all just happy that we are alive and well^0^
mazurka is a polish folk dance. popular in europe and united states from mid to late nineteenth century. the spaniards brought it to the philippines. there's a strong tie between the philippines and mexico during the spanish colonisation because of the manila acapulco galleonfrom (1565 to 1815).The trade has served as the fundamental income-generating business for Spanish colonists in the Philippines.
Hey.. Do you know what you're talking about? ? The USC Dance Troupe is performing the Dance with their own choreography(if you know what that means ). They follow the basic steps of the dance and added their own sequence and formations .
Don't base too much on the book... It makes you sound DUMB!!!
Wow I didnt know philipino folk dances were so heavily influenced by the Spanish. I was expecting something much more indigenous!!! It seems like theyre dancers from Veracruz, even the music sounds early Mexican, but its all the Spanish's influence. Anyway, Spanish influence is much better than English influence i think. Its funner than the rigid brittish influence over india and The U.S. back in the day. More flavor and color. besides spanish music is funner than british music of those times
Maria Clara suit of Filipino folk dances is Spanish (European) based being brought by the Spaniards to Las Islas Filipinas. Spanish culture has been the culture of the Philippines for 400 years. Mixed with the tolerant indigenous traits, it became the Filipino culture as being passed on to the world- and is still working.
Actually, much of the Hispanic elements in the Philippines also has a strong Mexican flavor due to the islands being ruled from Mexico City from 1565-1821. All in all it HAS NOT BEEN 400 Years. That's incorrect.
Spanish rule lasted for only 333 years according to history.
And "Spanish culture" has not been the culture of the philippines, it has INFLUENCED. Much different.
The Filipino culture is more Malay than anything, and it is incorrect to regard it as anything else.
We Filipinos don't hate our real culture, and we especially don't "pass another group's culture" as our own. We all admit that various cultures had influenced us greatly, particularly the Spanish culture. But even though this is the case, there are still a lot of other parts of our culture that are still the same, and we are trying to preserve them for future generations. We are not making it secret to people from other countries that we are influenced by others.

One of saddest things is a group of people who hate their real culture and try to pass another group's culture off as their own - not working.

It is curiously another style of mazurka than in Europe - have a look on my channel. Big hello from France.

Your kidding, right? "curiously another style"... How about "It's curiously copied from a culture other than their own"....
DonMiguel1810 3 years ago
I believe what I read, so if it is not their own culture I would be nice they can bring sme restrictions to the presentation text
