The void where it goes dark is a bug with fancy graphics, changing your settings to fast and back removes it. As for the weird floaty thing in the void it was also accompanied by a sound that isn't in the sound files that come with minecraft, so it must have been added in post to troll everyone. Sorry to rain on your parade conspiracy theorists :)
