Freedom is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, it also means living with things you disagree with. Abortion is something that you may not like, but it is something you'll have to live with. The days of the back street "clinics" and the coathangers are gone. Having an abortion is a decision each woman must make on her own. It's not for grey haired men in washington or bible pushers to decide on her behalf. Keep it safe, legal and rare.

A question to be resolved is this, "Is the fetus a person?" The answer is, "That depends on who you ask". It is a matter of opinion, not a scientific fact one way or another. First you have to define what a person is. Again science has no one answer. We all CAN agree that it is a potential person but, by law, it has no rights until viable.
In fact most all the arguments on both sides are opinions. The one whose opinion matters most should decide, namely the pregnant woman.

I personally believe that economics isn't a good reason to abort a life. If one can't afford to bring a life into this world then take all necessary precautions to make sure you won't get pregnant. I don't think abortion is in the best interest of anyone but the selfish mother who has willingly destroyed the life of an unborn baby. Finally, it's a shame if modern women feel that abortion is some sort of birth control. It is unfortunate that life isn't valued like it once was.

I've certainly been here before. And I'm still struggling now with issues. I just want to say that the God who created you for his purpose is willing to forgive every sin that has stained your soul. Through Jesus Christ, all can be made whole. I pray you make the decision to live for him.
I have recently been dealing with my own demons of depression as well. I am a Christian yet I still struggle and have to deal with the same thoughts. I have been finding some cures to my depression though and that is God's Word. Proverbs 4:20-23 says this:

Okay one last reply: I know its my choice not to have an abortion, but I think a lot of people like me can never support this law because its like saying that a grown woman has more rights than a fetus. (It grows on its own- you just provide the place.) I feel like I need to protect what is allowed to be destroyed nowadays, you know? I totally agree with you. My older step-sister had an abortion when she was 23. She wasn't married and was coming out of an abusive relationship. When she found out she was pregnant she was scared to tell her dad and also she didn't want any ties to her abusive ex-boyfriend(the baby's father). She felt so trapped. She thought that killing her baby would fix her problem. That was 7 year ago.

I actually work with adults with developmental disabilities who could have been aborted cuz they wouldn't have "fit" the description of what a typical child should be. However, they are beautiful in God's eyes and their life is worth living.
My cousin also couldve been aborted. My aunt got pregnant when she was very young, 14 I think. Yet my aunt set up a private adoption and Kevin, my cousin who I never knew until this year, found our family and we had a big reunion and Kevin turned out to be just fine. His life certainly is worth living just like the rest of the "unborn" whom are never even given a fair chance.

This biblical verse says if men fight and cause a miscarriage to a pregnant woman they are to be fined but not killed, however, if they kill the woman then the court is to take life for life. If the fetus was human then the men would be killed for causing death to the fetus but the fetus is obviously not seen as being as important as the woman in this verse. Here is biblical support for choice and why many true christians are for choice.

However, if the man is fighting and it causes a serious injury to the mother hence child, then his life must be taken.
To me, this verse proves you wrong b/c it shows that the unborn child was regarded as high priority especially b/c of that harsh death sentence!

None of the claims I made were wrong. Of the millions of women who abort every year I am sure it is entirely possible that you have spoken to some regretful women but most of these women(98%) are shown to not regret their choice. I have shown logic here and you just keep using your emotions. I haven't made insane claims and like I said before if you researched you'd find that there was a point in the church's history when it supported abortion until the mother felt the quickening of the fetus.

Freedom is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, it also means living with things you disagree with. Abortion is something that you may not like, but it is something you'll have to live with. The days of the back street "clinics" and the coathangers are gone. Having an abortion is a decision each woman must make on her own. It's not for grey haired men in washington or bible pushers to decide on her behalf. Keep it safe, legal and rare.

In medical contexts, newborn refers to an infant in the first 28 days after birth. Therefore you don't know what you're talking about because a fetus is not a baby. Therefore abortion is only technically killing a grouping of cells that resulted from the sperm, and the eggs, and the what not. Not getting into that, you know.

A question to be resolved is this, "Is the fetus a person?" The answer is, "That depends on who you ask". It is a matter of opinion, not a scientific fact one way or another. First you have to define what a person is. Again science has no one answer. We all CAN agree that it is a potential person but, by law, it has no rights until viable.
In fact most all the arguments on both sides are opinions. The one whose opinion matters most should decide, namely the pregnant woman.

If government takes over healthcare, which is basically the bill being rammed through senate, there will begin to be government funded abortions! There needs to be some tort reform. I personally believe that economics isn't a good reason to abort a life. If one can't afford to bring a life into this world then take all necessary precautions to make sure you won't get pregnant. I don't think abortion is in the best interest of anyone but the selfish mother who has willingly destroyed the life of an unborn baby. Finally, it's a shame if modern women feel that abortion is some sort of birth control. It is unfortunate that life isn't valued like it once was.

Abortion shouldn't be a woman's personal choice. Women only play one role in having a baby. There is a man's role involved and there is a new life, which under the banner of abortion would be extinguished. A pro-abortionist denies humanity to the fetus at all, a stance that shows a lack of moral character (Wennberg, 57). This perspective states that the growing fetus is an autonomous life form that has its own rights regardless and separate of the woman.

You do know that if a pregnant woman dies in an accident due to a drunk driver, he will be charged with a double homicide - the death of the mom and the baby. I have recently been dealing with my own demons of depression as well. I am a Christian yet I still struggle and have to deal with the same thoughts. I have been finding some cures to my depression though and that is God's Word. Proverbs 4:20-23 says this:

Basically, to sum up everything Ive said, if you have not made a decision yet to live for Christ with all your heart, than now is the time to do so. And even if you have been close to God threoughout your years, YOU STILL HIM! You still need to go back to the fundamentals of salvation. And God calls you to be a new creature in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

According to the Webster's dictionary and abortion is defined as a miscarry, something misshapen or unnatural. An abortion is a procedure in which an embryo or fetus is prohibited from developing by artificial means. One could argue that this is next to murder. How can we as a society sanction the murdering of developing babies? Also it can equally be stated that abortion is unnatural and a health hazard to women who have undergone the procedure.

Okay one last reply: I know its my choice not to have an abortion, but I think a lot of people like me can never support this law because its like saying that a grown woman has more rights than a fetus. (It grows on its own- you just provide the place.) I feel like I need to protect what is allowed to be destroyed nowadays, you know? When she found out she was pregnant she was scared to tell her dad and also she didn't want any ties to her abusive ex-boyfriend(the baby's father). She felt so trapped. I actually work with adults with developmental disabilities who could have been aborted cuz they wouldn't have "fit" the description of what a typical child should be. However, they are beautiful in God's eyes and their life is worth living.

My cousin also couldve been aborted. My aunt got pregnant when she was very young, 14 I think. Yet my aunt set up a private adoption and Kevin, my cousin who I never knew until this year, found our family and we had a big reunion and Kevin turned out to be just fine. His life certainly is worth living just like the rest of the "unborn" whom are never even given a fair chance.
I'm a Christian so my beliefs are that of God's. He creates life and it must be cherished. I know you agree with me.

When I first recorded this I was skeptical to upload it because it's not the best of quality - the lighting is too dark, my amplifier at the time was a cheap one and my melody was a little too repetitive. This biblical verse says if men fight and cause a miscarriage to a pregnant woman they are to be fined but not killed, however, if they kill the woman then the court is to take life for life. If the fetus was human then the men would be killed for causing death to the fetus but the fetus is obviously not seen as being as important as the woman in this verse. Here is biblical support for choice and why many true christians are for choice.

Are you kidding me? Did you not read it closely??? It says that if a woman gives birth prematurely (doesn't mean miscarriage!) and there is no serious injury then the man fighting gets fined whatever the husband/courts want to fine.
However, if the man is fighting and it causes a serious injury to the mother hence child, then his life must be taken.
To me, this verse proves you wrong b/c it shows that the unborn child was regarded as high priority especially b/c of that harsh death sentence!

Of the millions of women who abort every year I am sure it is entirely possible that you have spoken to some regretful women but most of these women(98%) are shown to not regret their choice. Abortion has prevented millions of unwanted children from entering the world. If they weren't aborted millions of them would be homeless(not enough willing adoptive parents to care for all of them.)This would cause crime rates to explode due to the strain on the world's resources and lack of education.
And no the bible doesn't avoid abortion for the reasons you have stated. Women have,for thousands of years, used natural herbs to intentionally cause miscarriage. This was done in biblical times.

Abortion simply hasn't helped any part of society at all! It promotes irresponsibility and stupidity in my book!

Find me one verse in the bible directly related to abortion. If it mattered that much wouldn't Jesus have spoken about it more? Did you know that the church used to support abortion in the form of herbs?
Also, yes we are too crowded. It's a proven scientific fact that the earth will not be able to handle what we as a species are doing to it much longer. Only around 9% of abortions are performed after the first trimester mostly in cases of health problems for the mother. 91% are first trimester.

The Bible has no verse in it that says "abortion". Wanna know why? Cuz abortions didnt exist. People took no luxury in murdering little children in the womb of the mother back in the Biblical time periods.

Jesus doesn't have to speak about it! He knows that if you believe in the Creator, then you should know that God is the source of all life and that He deeply cares for the unborn just as much as He does every other person. Jesus assumes you already know this!
Yet He did say something on the matter...He said anyone who harms one of these little children - it would be better for him to be thrown into the depths of the sea with a milestone hung around his neck.

There is also nothing in the bible forbidding abortion as most christians would have you believe. There are many pro choice christians.

The Bible says thou shall not kill. I also says God formed the child in the womb of the mother. It says He knows everything about the child and deeply cares for him/ her.
First off, who are to speak on behalf of what God thinks by falsely defining what Scripture says?
Secondly, if you knew what a TRUE Christian was, you would know that abortion isn't something he/ she should stand for.
God is the Creator of all life. Abortionists need to start thinking about that!

Embryos don't "scream" or "weep."
They cannot feel pain in the first trimester nor do they even have conscientousness.
The earth is unable to sustain the present population today. By 2042 the world's population will have reached 9 billion!
Millions will eventually starve if something isn't done about this. By the way, there are an estimated 100 million orphaned children in the world. Read about what happened when hungary ilegalized abortion. Disaster!

Ok....so let's kill innocent babies b/c the world we live in is too crowded. That's a bunch of nonsense! We are not too crowded at all! And your defense talking about embyros doesn't work because there are alot of abortions that take place where the child is much bigger than just a little embryo!
The child's heart is beating at 2 weeks! I think that shows a sign of life wouldn't you agree?

It is the individual's choice (the mother's)whether she keeps the baby or not. No-one else should have a say about whether or not she keeps the baby. How dare anyone tell another person what to do with their own body. In my opinion it doesn't matter whether abortion is right or wrong. Only the mother's decision matters.

I see where you're coming from, however my point is this - what about the child's body? The mother has hers and the child has one too! What the mother should be more concerned with is defending her child and fighting for his/her life as opposed to ending it!
Freedom was never meant for people to do whatever they want. It is meant for a person to be free to do what is right. And abortion is not right - it's obvious! There simply is no good thing that is produced by ending a child's life!!

No, I am not for a women's choice to do wrong! This isn't an issue similar to self harm such as drinking alcohol - where it's your choice. This is an issue that not only hurts yourself as an abortionist, but you are also hurting those around you - mostly the innocent children whose lives are being destroyed.
