The controls in FN3 was perfect to me. I hate how they actually have the R analog for all punches including body punches. I'd rather duck or weave and have the option of throwing a punch once I've ducked or weave rather than having the body punch designated to a certain button. Maybe FN Champions reverted back to the same type of controls as FN 3 I would love that.

i think that they should have kept the ea sports cutman thing from round 3. that was very realistic. both games aint that realistic because any fighter would be pretty much dead from the amount of punches landed, but if they made it that realistic it would be 2 borin.

Barely anyone uses any of the other boxers in r3, all you see is all the fast fighters.

YOu can win by just landing jabs, I have been in many fights where i would be landing 6 hit comboes using hooks and uppercuts only to be hurt more by someoen spamming 4 ali jabs or roy right hands, im talking about trading shots too.

I like both games, but there were too many things wrong with r3. wish some elements of it were kept for r4.

I like how they use the SLOWEST boxers in FNR3 to compare it to FNR4. FNR3 was da shit online. There no stun punch on FNR4 which I think is unrealistic, mike tyson hits like a girl in it, and the fighters look more cartooney, and all the fighers move the same in FNR4.

i bout 4 also and its ok but not great. without the new graphics and tyson it wouldnt be as hyped up. when u look at it, it took so much simple stuff out. i just picked up round 3 after trading in round 4. round 3 on the 360 or ps3 is way better than on xbox and ps2. its worth the 12.99 used or 20.00 new

4 is nothing but a gimmick. better graphics and tyson. thats it. fight night 3 on ps3 or 360 has great graphics and better gameplay than round 4.

round 4 took out the equipment items like gloves and trunks that boost ratings, the cutman, ability to hire a cute man and trainer and the parry. that lean counter they added in round 4 is cheap. i dogged the guy in a fight knockdown after knockdown and in round 9 he did that lean counter with a JAB and ko'ed me. i agree wit u, round 3 is way better

Hm..I'm honestly not buying the "zomg the controls sux!" argument and the physics engine for 4 looks great. But since FNR 3 is cheaper and getting rare I'll go buy that one, play it, then purchase 4 when it drops in price so I can see for myself. Heck I was having a blast playing Fight Night 2004 last night even with the glitches from being run on a 360.

also, the speed at which you make your commands with the right analog stick dont match the gameplay on the screen.

its easy to lose track of what you are actually doing and just end up shaking the stick every which way constantly punching.

in fight night 3 the gameplay might of been slower, but you could lay your punches and combos better and it didnt seem so freaking random and out of control.

Fight Night 4 isnt perfect, they are both good in their own ways.

IMO punches in FN3 Seemed to have a bigger impact, you got more satisfaction out of landing a big punch, in FN4 punches dont feel like they should, instead of eliminating everything that made FN3 great, they should of taken some good aspects of it, instead of just going for pure speed/glancing blows..and no powerful gameplay, its sad when ever heavyweights seem like kids punching each other in a school yard.

Without the stuff they added like a new physics engine to the game they would have never been able to have Mike Tyson or Mohammed.

It would take a huge boxing fan to notice or even care about the different boxing style each fighter used. This is a much more accurate, and at the same time more enjoyable and action packed representation of boxing.
