Most console gamers assume that PC gaming it's extremely expensive and therefor a waste of money, this is would be understandable if you didn't build your own systeme and just bought some shitty $1000 dell or Hp, but he truth is you can build a pc for around $500 that will run smoother and look better then any console and you will be able to upgrade it when your graphics hardware starts to show it's age.

@illmagnified first off, you haven't seen what this baby is capable on the PC, only the console demonstration video was released. This trailer alone looks way better than the console version, which makes me think this IS for PC, and it won't be gimped.
There is a PC Demo out for CryEngine 3, and it looks no different than CryEngine 2- accept for a different type of forest in which they showed in engine. Reguardless, my point was, Cryengine 2 was revolutionary where as CryEngine 3 is a multiplatform engine meaning, no matter what they had to develop with contraints in mind seeing as they must pull of a lot of the same effects on all platforms instead of doing super graphically intense set pieces that only a PC could handle.

@DkPSP: To understand the purpose of NextGEN Ready, you must understand the concept of CryEngine3 itself. It's designed to allow design with real-time preview capabilities, and insure that the content designed is compatible with PS3, and Xbox360 - hence NextGEN ready. In simple terms, it insures that whatever you design will be playable on PC, PS3, Xbox360. And there is an incredibly useful Resource Manager tool to make sure the content made fits into the processing capabilities of consoles.

@DkPSP: No, the graphics will never be identical. They are dependent primarily on the display resolution - consoles being capped to 1080P, and inherently inferior in both resolution and processing capabilities then top gaming PC's. However, CE3 provides the capability to make sure the game will be compact enough to run on the rather limited resources & capacity which consoles have in comparison to PC's. And NextGEN refers to both PS3/360 and PS4 and it's upcoming Xbox counterpart aswell as PS3.

Take a close look. Sometimes they say "NextGen ready" sometiems they say realtime on Xbox360/PS3. You have to make a difference between them. NextGen ready does not mean that you are going to see it that way on the consoles.
