I'm glad you had a great experience from it and everything turned out great :) Something I wish people would touch upon also is the fact that it's still OK if they don't accept you right away. Sometime space and time is all they need to digest the fact. My heart goes out for those who's been abandon because of their sexual preference...Thanks Luke! Look forward to more vids from you :)
I really love your video and what you said, it's a really inspirational story and hopefully it'd help a lot of guys struggling with their coming out , but I just HAVE to tell you.. damn you're hot!!! xD
Hey again Luke! Like you said to me, I too appreciate a sincere compliment!
It’s a source of encouragement, like extra spiritual nourishment to get thru the days where it seems the support tends to lag, or the haters & homophobes are the most annoying & persistent! The good thing is that the more proof that things CAN & often DO Get Better, with positive messages in videos like yours the more likely that those who NEED to hear the good news, will seek help & rethink any thoughts of self-harm!
Hey Luke, good video. I'm a real old timer. Came out in 1956 in Texas. Was more difficult than now, but it happened. Even though I was out, was elected Student Body President, Class and Student Body favorite. My bf has gone with me to class reunions, and over the years he's as accepted as I am. Both of our family's accepted us, as did our friends. So glad you and the other young GLBTQ youth have the internet, and the acceptance you have now days. Enjoy everyday of your young life.
@tahoemack This story is inspirational. Thanks so much for your comment, it was lovely to read and I'm happy to see you've experienced so much acceptance in your life :) Yes, I count myself lucky to be part of a generation that has such easy access to the knowledge that we're not alone and we shouldn't be afraid to be ourselves. Thank you, I will. Continue to enjoy everyday of your life too.
Most parent who hear that their child is gay when they had no idea, try their best to keep their crying and moaning about it to private times. Most try to act as if they're totally accepting because they know that's what they SHOULD do. Thank God for that! The biggest and mot important things, as you say, are being comfortable with yourself, and having a "support network" to help you in the 'outside' world. BRAVO!
hey handsome :) cant keep my eyes off of you ;) nice video, one of my faves so far, not sure why i still watch them though haha im 19 been out for a while now and it has got better since i came out and am loving life at the moment :) my life is looking up and feel a hell of a lot more comfortable with who i am and confident with myself than i did 2 or 3 years ago :) where u from sweetcheeks ? u got a very strong manchester accent :P my whole family sound the same haha, originaly from stockport
Hey Luke! A great job on what can be a very critical message to improve or even save LGBT's lives!
My profile message has a bit of cautious optimism: it CAN & with patience & persistence often DOES GET BETTER!
I’m devoted to bringing LGBT Coming Out & other stories together, how it affects their lives & how families & friends reacted. It reflects our LGBT community helping & supporting each other with related issues & challenges
I added your video to my new “It Gets Better Now # 2" playlist
@comingoutnowtogether Sorry for the late reply! Thanks so much, it's great to be told I've done a good job with the video :) This was the first attempt and after a few more takes I decided to use it as it contained the message I wanted to convey.
Thanks for adding this to your playlist, using your channel to have so many stories in one place is a brilliant idea :)
@lukefazak Hey Luke! Well, better late than never-LOL!
To me the 1st attempt is often the best as it's more often from the heart-how it feels; how it affected you emotionally & psychologically-than latter ones where we may tend to focus on the names, dates & facts etc-from the head-& less emphasis on feelings
Though as you said, it’s always the MESSAGE that's most important!
And it’s become my mission to spread that hope!
If even 1 life is saved it’s all worth the effort!
Well done,fella.It is a toughie,coming out to the old folks,but it's a real test of inner-strength,and you've done it.Thankfully your parents have accepted it,but in reality they KNOW you're still their son,that doesn't change.Good luck,& have a great birthday next week. :-)
@popazz1 Thanks for this, it's true, before you tell anyone it takes a lot to tell people you care about but then once it's done it feels brilliant :) and thanks, I will!
Oi "Luca Bello", and that's "Beautiful or Handsome Luke"! Please pardon this "Yank"here Luke, but you "Out", and totally affirming young folks from the UK just "Blow Me Away"! "Grazie Mille Luca Bello", for contributing your very "Authentic" share, to what has "Mushroomed"into a "Global Effort" here! Many of our "At Risk Gayby" brothers and sisters will likely be the beneficiaries of it!
