I was on a plane headed for March AFB returning from a deployment to Iraq when I saw this out the window right as we were coming in to land. I thought to myself, 'Great, coming home from one war just to get in a new, intergalactic one.' I was pretty relieved to learn it was just a missile test...

I remember seeing this as I was getting off of the 110 freeway in downtown Los Angeles. I had just made a turn onto Figueroa St heading North. I was looking back towards the coastline. Brilliant colors as I was driving North on the 101 less than 4 minutes later! Great video!!

i remember this. i was sitting inside watching history channel, and my little brother comes inside telling me there is something on fire in the sry, and i told him to shut up and leave me alone, then i went outside to go get something, and look up and see the contrail forming after it happened, and the contrail was left kinda in the shape of a 2 . i remember that like it was yesterday and it caught my interest in spaceflight. still have the pictures i took.

If you have never seen a launch from vandenburg before, you dont know what your missing. I have lived in So. Cal all my life and it is something to behold!..I freaked my new girlfriend out once when we saw one together, i just started acting like we were all goning to die and she fell for it hook line and sinker!...LOL I used to deliver food to vandenberg and all the people there are really cool folks.

I feel there are quite a few differences between this video and the purported UFO video...The biggest being in the "UFO" video the object seems to be coming from up in the sky towards the ground. IF they're launching missiles over CA you think they'd at least aim UP!

I saw this driving home from work and it freaked me out. I stopped at the grocery store and watch the whole thing. People were running off the road trying to see this. I had no idea what it was? So many people were calling the news stations that they were running a recording explaining what it was. I am really glad I got to see it. It was pretty awesome.

Stunning stage 2 burn. At least that's what I presume it was. I tried to watch one from Monterey, CA when they launched a satellite. Reports said it should have been visible lower on the horizon that night. It was too cloudy and rainy that night, though. Bummer. The one time it rains in Monterey.

I saw this in person while driving home in the Hollywood Hills. I though the world was ending! That final spray of fuel looked like something turned on a huge spotlight in the sky, while the glowing trail had all these amazing colors in it...

Some of my colleagues and I were observing another twilight launch when a neighborhood kid ran up to us and asked if we knew what that was. Before we could answer that it was a target rocket to test a missile defense system, she said, "It was an angel!"...she just might be right.
