OMG!! I really hate John Wayne and all his crap movies. John Wayne, why did you not fight for your country? These were the big heroes, Jimmy Stewart, Lee Marvin, Neville Brand, Jason Robards, Jr., Henry Fonda, Sterling Hayden, Glenn Ford,
Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and Rod Serling. These were my heroes, not you, Wayne? Damn coward.
@omemellowdude: there's no Ricky because it's a portrait of Dude, a brief history of his troubled story, not a summary of the film. Perhaps I misrepresented it in the title... sorry!
Sorry you don't appreciate the commentary, chosen because it fits, I believe, perfectly, the tone of the film. After all, the song is title "What keeps Mankind alive." Thanks, though!
It's sort of annoying except for the few seconds of Dean's song. Sorry, but just some soft background music befitting the subject maybe would be better. Other wise, Enjoyed the clips you used.

Interesting.
Y'know, you get to see the acting in a different light, once the music's different.
I find Tom Waits a wee bit too harsh but generally I get the message.
