@SharedJoy Funny, anyone who befriended blacks in the south pre-civil war era was considered a traitor. Anyone who didn't exterminate Jews when ordered to in Nazi Germany was considered a traitor. Who betrayed whom? If you kick a loyal dog enough times, it will bite. Is that traitorous? When Japan invaded China and Southeast Asia and started raping and pillaging, were those who refused orders traitors? Morality is relativistic; atrocities are committed by absolutionists.
I had a chance to speak directly with Khidhir Hamza after he defected (In charge of Saddam's nuclear enrichment). 1) Israeli intelligence murdered every single scientist that worked for him as they were traveling in Europe. Each case was poisoning at a restaurant by a waiter. 2) A blond CIA agent approached Hamza in broad daylight in Baghdad and offered him asylum. He was very clear that they would make arrangements to remove his entire family. Hence I believe Amiri was indeed kidnapped.
One way or another I just feel sorry for him. He chose the wrong line of work to go into. The guy has a family....but we'll probably never know the real truth.
@HereMikeWas Pahlevuni obviously knows more about the culture than you do, and the comments that you're making just make you seem ignorant and close minded. Whether or not he was kidnapped by the CIA, I think this video indicates quite clearly that he was fed the words by the CIA. If you look at his eyes, he is clearly reading from a teleprompter or cue cards. Now ask yourself... if this man is telling his own story, why on earth does he need a script to read from? Looks not unlike the performance of American captors in the Al-Quaeda videos where they claim they are being treated great. Truth is far from the representation on film.

Secret services are there to deceive the general public about cases like this. The fact is he flew back from the US in a commercial airliner. The question is: if the CIA had him abducted why release him so soon or at all?

@nomadicexplorers do you really think that he would cut short a pilgrimage, leave to the states without telling his family, (to extend his studies!!!LOL) not contact them for a year, and only contact them via youtube rather than a telephone call?!?! nahhh... the americans would never lie, theyve never lied before...
@behsaba Why would the United States, famous for making people disappear, kidnap a scientist from a hostile nation and then just let him go? If we took him, he would of never been heard from again.
This is why I think he is lying; he says, 'I was abducted and was given an injection. When I came around I was in a big plane, probably a military plane, I was blindfolded." This seems to be Iran mullahs' way of sending spies to the USA and when their spies are caught, they (Mullahs and their spies) make up stupid and ridiculous lies.
I forgot to say that if you look closely to the globe, you can see that the Americas are carefully choses to be turned our way. It's really too bad that they couldn't find a way to slightly lift up the backpart of the globe so that the US would have been even more clearly visible.
part 3 In this video he claims not to have any interest in any political subjects of any country. That's right, he's from Iran to get an education in America and he has brains, but he doesn't have any political interests…
Also nice is to see that he loves the entire world. That is what the globe in the back of the room stands for. And again the civilized, normal appearance.
This is all a bunch of bullshit. The US need a reason to attack. This could have been a reason.
In the pre-modern time chess was used to learn war strategy. Wow! Somehow I have the feeling everything is coming together now! Iran, USA, war strategy, chess.
And now after 1400 years, the game has pretty much been westernized. OMG, isn't it nice that this persian guy considers to give us this hidden message? He loves westernization! What a great guy.
He is sitting next to a nicely lightened out chess-board, which indicates that he is civilized and has good taste. Back in the old days it was a sport for the well educated and noble people. In fact 'chess' stands for a lot of things. The original word comes from the Persian word 'shäh', which means king. And 'checkmate' comes from the Persian shäh mäta, which means that the king is in an ambush.
in 30 years or so, the CIA will admit the truth, as if if were too far in the past to matter. That's how they roll, you need look no further than Wikipedia to find that out.
hmmm, this guy is awfully dry mouthed, like all good liars : ) also, who plucked his eyebrows for him? the globe and chess set really drum it into me what intellectuals we are dealing with : )
how about this ..... if you want to get your army to move from east and west to attack iran ... which would be from Afghanistan and Iraq .. then what would you need ? You need a "source" that claims to have seen nuclear weapons or working on it ...this is what this guy was suppos to be ! I mean this is how they started Iraq war and you people in US still believe in WMD weapons of mass dstrctn. which where neeeeeever found .. ell here is the guy that allows US to attack Iran.watch Greenline
Lol...now this is just PLAIN SAD Iran. What's next? Claiming we kidnapped your cat Mittens and conducted sekrit tests on him? This coming from Ahmina-na-not-gonna-work-here-anymore who claims the Holocaust didn't happen. Well, you'd probably be in good company with Mel Gibson.
When will CIA, learn to be professionals? When will they learn the nuances of cultures, they try so hard to screw with?
In persian language, I or first person pronoun is hardly used, every other word coming out of this guy's mouth is first person I, which tells me it is a direct translation of written statement by some asshole CIA agent who then had it translated to Farcy by an incompetent translator.
talk of US claiming moral superiority. US has imprisoned and tortured hundreds of innocent people, including ppl they themselves accept are innocent in gauntanamo. how does it make them morally superior even if this guy is pressurised by iran.
This is the most confusing episode i have ever heard. I think he went to America of his own free will (probably to spy) and decided to go back empty handed
well, this video is professionally directed and he seems to be instructed to make this statement. Also, look how the background is being set up. Warm oak furniture and accessories with the Chess board and whatnot bring together somehow an intellectual and sophisticated environment as if he's in prestigious university. I don't know if I can buy this.
Knowing the history of the Iranian regime (not being very with telling the truth and all) I am simply speculating for the story to be something like this. Let's not forget, the Iranians government is big in drama and claiming martyrdom and the scenario that I drew satisfies their both needs.
This is how the story really went down. The Iranian secret police told his wife in Iran they will kill his boy if he does not return. The wife pleaded and cried on the phone for him to return. Once he agreed, Iranian instructed him to go to the embassy, pretending a escape from Americans. That way the Iranians can save face and also score against US by making it look like he was kidnapped. Left with no choice, he followed their script and here we are. Poor guy.
He´s a traitor of is country, and now he´s trying to put the eyes on the CIA...please he´s also read this fucking statement...fuck the iranian corrupted politcs. He´s afraid that is country try to kill him..fuck him
@tierneynowland Probably, uneducated, how do you know? If it's a poor country or politically instable - maybe. If it's a rich country and prospering - it's a different case.
Iranin state media reported today that Amiri took refuge at the Pakistani embassy in Washington DC. Given the 3 different videos we have seen so far, there is no reason to believe the reports are anything other than more mis-information.
after the weapons of mass destruction, GUANTANAMO, everything is possible ASK mr=ROBERT LADY,JEFF CASTELLI [In report of the European Parliament dated 2007, it was established that between 2001 and 2007, the CIA had already takes over 1000 "extraordinary rendition" flights by Europe.] Instead of being charged and have the courts, individuals allegedly suspected to maintain links with terrorism have been kidnapped and transferred to secret prisons in countries allied with the United States.
the guy is a traitor and free in America after spy for US on Iran's nuclear program, but he ended up missing his family in Iran. When he contaced his family the iranian intelligence forced him to release the other videos in a effort to strike back at US intelligence and complicate the matter even more. The iranians instead vowed not to ostracize his family.
khak too sare man:| harooz ye gandi az ye gooshe iran dide mishe:( akhe khoda ta key,har jaro nigah mikonam sarkhordegie, dige javoone ba omid namoonde too in kharab shode, hame ya khodeshoono zadan be bikhiali ya divoone shodan:((
I think it's awesome that America is so badass we don't need to kidnap anyone. Just offer them a nice quiet existence and some living expenses and maybe a nice job. Iran on the other has to kidnap people just to keep them from fleeing their shithole country. The brain drain from that country is ridiculous and I can see why: look at this poor stunt double. They probably threatened to kill him and his family if he didn't cooperate.
I mean if we really had an iranian scientist defector in Arizona we wouldn't let him on youtube or on the internet uncensored lol. Iran is so amateur at this stuff it's hilarious. Obviously we do have the scientist and he is feeding us information. But he didn't make those videos, the Iranians did. They probably just found a guy that looked similar and made him read a script at gunpoint haha. That's totally Iran in a nutshell. Anyways, silly shit once again coming out of Iran. What a joke.
Look I'm not stupid. Iranian scientist goes missing. Suddenly, somehow the Iranian state TV gets TWO videos saying "I have been abducted and just escaped from the US minutes ago..." and the other "I'm living in Arizona"
Seriously, does Iran think we're that fucking stupid? They just want us to admit their top scientist defected to us, which we're not going to do. Iran, we're not new to this game, stop playing us like noobs.
Anyone that has any skill at reading body language can see this man is FEARED... he's obviously reading a script. With that perfect setup background stage and his tense body movement and NO relaxed face. The only conclusion is that THIS video was a staged, with some people putting pressure on this man, where he maybe fearing his life.
Bobba fett's bungling gave Iran bomb. you had LEON THE PEON CY@ING dopeo's allege ''water board'' meetings OBAMA invited KAMANEI AHMADINEJERK for the 4th of july early in term these clintonshista bozo's f/up good Dems lot screw cia, with a clintonshista in charge, hilda beast all over the place, just don't trust any of them the one thing you can count on losing freedom, with this enemy loving bunch.
I just watched the Nightline presentation showing how Amiri was asked to appear in this video following intimidation, coercion, and death threats by the Iranian government that forced Amiri to make prior statements about being kidnapped. The Iranian regime threatend to kill or maim Amiri's wife and son. The Iranians were swift to post the earlier video. I doubt the government permitted its people to hear these statements. A sad reminder that we cannot take for granted freedom of speech.
@tommyhinzo7This highlights two things, the first being that this country (America) doesn't give a fuck about the welfare of those who risk everything in assisting the government of this country, and this guy (Amiri) is an example of that. The second thing that this event highlights is the hypocrisy of this country. The US utilizes an American spy with information on Iran and yet when the Russians utilize their version of informants the US government gets infuriated.

Obviously this guy had a gun held to his head and was told to either read from the teleprompter or have his head blown up. He is so nervous and uneasy and you can see the sweat forming on his forehead.
It is an obviously engineered speech! This tape made me think for the first time that he may really be abducted, and the regime is telling the truth about him for the first time! What ever it is, the poor guy is badly stuck in a deep shit!
this war is about domination of radical Islam on the world!
I wouldn't want be under sharia law's! no thanks!
If Iranians like it, well... good for them.. though we saw what happen if they try to say something... Iran and the radical Islam ideology want to dominate the world with their fascistic regime ! the west will fight for its freedom till its last nuke! Just like the Nazis got what they asked for
I, along with MANY others, think this was created to look faked ON PURPOSE. Why? To make it look like America kidnapped this man. My, and everyone elses guess who made this? Iran. Iranian official made it.
@33Entertainment : Iranian officials made anither video that shows this very person saying that he has been kidnapped to USA from Saudi Arabia and so on! How come this film could be from Iranians?
They both obviously came from inside Iran, they're the same actor both looking nothing like Shahram Amiri. He's so obviously looking panicked and nervous to make the viewers think the USA kidnapped him. They did not.
Do u mean CSI? I hate that show.. I dislike all Crime Investigation series.. I did however watch (Former CIA Analyst of 27 years) Roy McGovern's opinion on the subject (Shahram Amiri's latest vid) on Russian TV, here on youtube as well.
The globe in the background with the North American continent conveniently centered in focus. The Chess board, with all pieces in start position. Is that supposed to signify something? There's obviously a screen to the right of the camera, from which he is reading the script, as apparent from his right-to-left eye movements. There's sadness and grief in his eyes, besides the frequent gazes downwards, lack of emotion, facial expression, or even gestures or hand/bodily movements. Probably coerced.
Translation: "Good evening youtube, and welcome to Mastermind Guantanamo bay. I am Shahram Amiri, I will be your host today from this tarted up US Political Jail cell..."
It's quite obvious that he is reading! His posture and demeanor are so rigid, it's as if he is sending some sort of message to convey how uncomfortable he is WHEREVER he is. I'm not buying that he is doing this of his own accord.
Here's a translation and analysis of this video and the other one broadcast by Iranian TV: homylafayette.blogspot.com/2010/06/close-up-case-of-missing-nuclear.html
Here's a translation and analysis of this video and the other one broadcast by Iranian TV: homylafayette.blogspot.com/2010/06/close-up-case-of-missing-nuclear.html
What is wrong with this picture? If this is just an ordinary person simply trying to clear up something, why is he in an obviously professionally staged setup -including the carefully arranged background and perfect lighting?
What a wonderful set! The nice chess board. The huge globe worthy of Citizen Kane. Check out the expensive wall covering. Such attention to detail. Truly deserving of an Oscar® for art direction! Westwood? Hollywood? Langley?
I totally agree! the funny part it is he says I love my wife and child! then he left them without telling them! the funnier part is he is saying IRI will take care of them! WTF? are you kidding me?
someone is walking behind the camera and you can see his shadow on the frame of the lower picture hanging on the front wall. Shahram exactly at the same time gets distracted and looks at the walking person. And since the light of the desk lamp is also reflected off the same frame (with glass), the lamp is real too :-)
The room in which he is in is soo over done and it's obvious he is reading some sort of script. Really though they would be able to do a better fake than this.
he is so scared

Do you really think if the United States captured this scientist through covert operations, that they would just let him go? LOL
nomadicexplorers 1 year ago
@nomadicexplorers do you really think that he would cut short a pilgrimage, leave to the states without telling his family, (to extend his studies!!!LOL) not contact them for a year, and only contact them via youtube rather than a telephone call?!?! nahhh... the americans would never lie, theyve never lied before...
behsaba 1 year ago
@behsaba Why would the United States, famous for making people disappear, kidnap a scientist from a hostile nation and then just let him go? If we took him, he would of never been heard from again.
nomadicexplorers 1 year ago
This is why I think he is lying; he says, 'I was abducted and was given an injection. When I came around I was in a big plane, probably a military plane, I was blindfolded." This seems to be Iran mullahs' way of sending spies to the USA and when their spies are caught, they (Mullahs and their spies) make up stupid and ridiculous lies.

I forgot to say that if you look closely to the globe, you can see that the Americas are carefully choses to be turned our way. It's really too bad that they couldn't find a way to slightly lift up the backpart of the globe so that the US would have been even more clearly visible.
Funkengrooven 1 year ago
part 3 In this video he claims not to have any interest in any political subjects of any country.
Funkengrooven 1 year ago
part 2
In the pre-modern time chess was used to learn war strategy. Wow! Somehow I have the feeling everything is coming together now! Iran, USA, war strategy, chess.
And now after 1400 years, the game has pretty much been westernized. OMG, isn't it nice that this persian guy considers to give us this hidden message? He loves westernization! What a great guy.
Read my continuation please.
Funkengrooven 1 year ago
part 1
He is sitting next to a nicely lightened out chess-board, which indicates that he is civilized and has good taste. Back in the old days it was a sport for the well educated and noble people. In fact 'chess' stands for a lot of things. The original word comes from the Persian word 'shäh', which means king. And 'checkmate' comes from the Persian shäh mäta, which means that the king is in an ambush.
Funny, because he is Persian.
Read my continuation please.

well, this video is professionally directed and he seems to be instructed to make this statement.

Let's not forget, the Iranians government is big in drama and claiming martyrdom and the scenario that I drew satisfies their both needs.
solacer799 1 year ago
This is how the story really went down. The Iranian secret police told his wife in Iran they will kill his boy if he does not return. The wife pleaded and cried on the phone for him to return. Once he agreed, Iranian instructed him to go to the embassy, pretending a escape from Americans. That way the Iranians can save face and also score against US by making it look like he was kidnapped. Left with no choice, he followed their script and here we are. Poor guy.

A sad reminder that we cannot take for granted freedom of speech.
tommyhinzo7 1 year ago
@tommyhinzo7This highlights two things, the first being that this country (America) doesn't give a fuck about the welfare of those who risk everything in assisting the government of this country, and this guy (Amiri) is an example of that. The second thing that this event highlights is the hypocrisy of this country. The US utilizes an American spy with information on Iran and yet when the Russians utilize their version of informants the US government gets infuriated.

jasminaura 1 year ago
The globe in the background with the North American continent conveniently centered in focus. The Chess board, with all pieces in start position. Is that supposed to signify something? There's obviously a screen to the right of the camera, from which he is reading the script, as apparent from his right-to-left eye movements. There's sadness and grief in his eyes, besides the frequent gazes downwards, lack of emotion, facial expression, or even gestures or hand/bodily movements. Probably coerced.
