nice shooting i got a .222 but its hard to find amo. can you drill the gun camber out to the .223 size cause i think the bullet is the same diameter between the two its the case right?
I could give you my opinions on that, but I wouldnt want you to do something based on incorrect info. You would be better served by looking up that info in a reputable publication. I would recommend Cartridges Of The World for any case dimension questions.
The .222 is a great cartridge for groundhogs out to about 150 yards. Beyond that, it doesnt really have enough punch to get the job done. However, the .223 is effective on groundhog to 300 yds easily, it retains more energy and punch at longer ranges and the ammo is more readily available. Go for the .223.
yeah, just the thought of eating one of these disgusting rodents makes me sick!
This is one of my favorite videos, it has a nice muzzle flash, with the bullet vortex, and then a good impact on the groundhog. It was just a good day that day.
but yah, for not shootin for that long, i understand why it took that long to aim. it was a good shot though. i have no prob because i shoot stuff almost everyday, especially gophers. you should post som vids of gopher hunting. its hella fun
This is my first thought, SHOOT ALREADY!!! lol, no offense and with all due respect, but to me you took way to long to sight it in. i just raise my gun and squeze and i have no problem hitting them.
Yeah, I know what you're saying but my brother hadnt taken a shot in about 3 months, so he was really excited, and it took him a little while to calm his breathing and get a steady rest. It was 150 yards away and only his head was poking out of the hole, so it wasnt exactly an easy shot either. Some of the delay is also due to my editing of the video, I could have made it a little shorter, but I had to synchronize it with the music. But thank you for your constructive criticism...
yah, sry about any offens i may have cause, i thought t was a gopher when i last typed, i didnt know it was just the head of a groundhog at the time, good shot though

Which do you favor more the .222 or the .223? They are very similar in ballistics but what would you recommend?

Unfortunately, yes.
It seems foul and disgusting to me, but I guess some people like it.

Clean kill, one shot, good shot. Carlos Hathcock would be proud.
