Like someone mentioned before, Carpenter might not be the best vocalist out of these four, but his acting is phenomenal. I rarely tear up, but seeing the phantom falling on his knees trying to make Christine stay had me bawling...

Every man playing the Phantom on stage, since I first saw the show with the brilliant Hugh Panaro, has broken my heart.

Although the one who makes me cry the most is Michael Crawford. He doesn't break my heart...

He rips it out of my chest Temple of Doom style, tears it into sixteenths, throws it on the ground, and stamps all over what's left of it.

i really like Earl Carpenter and Michael Crawford cos when you listen to the any other phantom they all sound the same when they sing 'you alone can make my soul take flight' but those two have different voice tones and they stand out a bit more :)

I adore the way Earl tries to copy what Raoul does in aiaou, by proposing only to get rejected it's just so sad....but joj's voice and his just total sobbing..gets to me...I saw his phantom a number of times live...everytime...had me in tears!

The emotion in his movements and his ethereal voice that no other has. Earl Carpenter is second. But I have recently seen Phantom at Las Vegas and saw Michael Lackey play Phantom and he was unbelieveable! The little things he did made that particular performance amazing. I love it when they do these comparisons...you get a different feel of the drama each time...like in pretty much all of them christine just runs away without looking back. In the JOJ one she looks at him and puts her hand on his to tell him that she's sorry but she can't. Thanx 4 the comparison!!!
