I was born into the Lds church and altho my mom was no longer active, my grandma was. At that time I lived very close to my grandma and I had a choice to go or not to. Both my mom and my grandma let me choose and I chose the church. However my mom and I moved away, so I could no longer go with my grandma, but not allowing that to stop me, I continued to go to church... by my self at the age of 6. I am 16 now, and I am so happy I made that choice. I dont know where I would be today if I didn't.

If you think our church is a cult, I would invite you to check out what direction we are receiving from our leaders this weekend. It's a little messed up. but that's ok! :) here's a run down version of it- We believe that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ, who told him that he was to restore Christ's true church on the earth, as it was in the days of the first twelve apostles. We do follow 2 books. But, they make it into 1 book, too. Soo it's just one big huge book :) it doesn't get hard, i don't think. You have tabs on it, that tell you what's there. So it's not that hard. (:

I did a history project about Mormons in 10th grade, I loved it and learned so much about the Church (which was helpful because at the time I had only been a member for about 7 months). For the truth about mormonism read "Mormonism Shadow or Reality" by Jerald and Sandra Tanner. Sandra realised that her great great grandfather (Brigham Young )was not a prophet when she read his sermons. She later realised the Book of Mormon was false after reading The Golden Bible by M.T. lamb.

I fail to see the connection between going to church and knowing that the book is false. I have heard some very moving stories of mormons who have read the book. Jerald continued to believe in the B.O.M for another two years after leaving the church. It seems he wanted to believe but the facts got in the way and you just have to go with the facts!
The facts are that the LDS church has the same orginization as Christ has when he was here on the earth. They have a prophet, Amos 3:7, 12 apostles and Quorum of the 70 (Hebrews), they have temples much like throughout the bible, the BofMormon is the writings of the Native Americans.. this is something you learned about in school. The book of mormon IS true, ask any Indian and they will confirm. Thanks though... those are your facts
Hebrews actually tells us that Christ has replaced the priesthood that the mormons have restored. The temples you are talking about are from the old testament. A good video to watch regarding the indians is "DNA versus The Book of Mormon." Another is "The Lost Book of Abraham." This deals with the Joseph Smith's supposed translation of Abraham's writings.
Yes, we need to look at the facts in any subject. A phrase I like is "Everything should be as simple as possible, but not more so." If you look at "The Book of Abraham The Critical link" it tells us all we really need to know about the church if we were thinking of joining (or leaving.) The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-DAy Saints is the only church Christ is the head of...we see by the fruits and then compare them to you and your kind...your fruits are rotten to the core.

What I meant was that no Gospel Essentials Teacher or temple worker would behave the way you do...and calling names is never justified...so I still say you are either an ex-member or about to become one...I also find it hard to believe that you work in the temple at only 26 and with your attitude. I was born into the Lds church and altho my mom was no longer active, my grandma was. At that time I lived very close to my grandma and I had a choice to go or not to. Both my mom and my grandma let me choose and I chose the church. However my mom and I moved away, so I could no longer go with my grandma, but not allowing that to stop me, I continued to go to church... by my self at the age of 6. I am 16 now, and I am so happy I made that choice. I dont know where I would be today if I didn't.

I am still curious of what your definition of a cult is. Please advise. As far as the doctrine of grace is concerned. We believe that we are saved by grace after all we can do. That simple. We believe, as stated in the Bible that we are heirs (we can inherit) all that is the Fathers. Romans 8:16-17. If you do not believe our doctrine, that is fine. However, I feel it important to know that from my perspective, a Christian is someone who believes in Christ. I believe and know that Christ is my Savior and he's the one who I worship. "In out faith, if you persorm good works and live a holy life, we will be rewarded by going into heaven and be with our heavenly father. We will them become as gods and live with him for all eternity." That is wat the Mormon Missionaries said in my homw town. Can you explain that for me? Is what I said a lie?

They said that the more good works that they do, the more likely they will go into heaven. But it is said in the Holly Bibil, not the Book of Mormon, Grace alone can get you into heaven, not good works, but by grace from God the Father.

It's a little messed up. but that's ok! :) here's a run down version of it- We believe that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ, who told him that he was to restore Christ's true church on the earth, as it was in the days of the first twelve apostles. He was then visited by an angel who showed him the location of an ancient record of Christ visiting the Americas and teaching His Gospel. Through the power of God he was able to translate the record- the Book of Mormon.

and we follow the ten commandments (don't kill, like, steal, etc.) and the word of wisdom (like we can't drink coffee, tea, or smoke, etc. cuz it's bad for our body)

We do follow 2 books. But, they make it into 1 book, too. Soo it's just one big huge book :) it doesn't get hard, i don't think. You have tabs on it, that tell you what's there. So it's not that hard. (:

msparayno: I am sorry about what has happened here. People get passionate about things they love and hate, so sometimes they clash in a horriable way. I did a history project about Mormons in 10th grade, I loved it and learned so much about the Church (which was helpful because at the time I had only been a member for about 7 months). By the way I LOVE david archuleta! He is coming to Alaska this summer and Im STOKED. If I get a chance to talk to him I will tell him about your awesome video! :)

You do know the reason why I have ONE account on here is to post videos of my family and friends. All of my videos are memories. Those videos mean the world to me. I do not need to have multiple friends and the only friends I do have on here are the ones that requested it. The reason why I have rage is because I'm very passionate about the church. I know what's it's like being outside the church and not having the gospel. For the truth about mormonism read "Mormonism Shadow or Reality" by Jerald and Sandra Tanner. Sandra realised that her great great grandfather (Brigham Young )was not a prophet when she read his sermons. She later realised the Book of Mormon was false after reading The Golden Bible by M.T. lamb.

I fail to see the connection between going to church and knowing that the book is false. I have heard some very moving stories of mormons who have read the book. Jerald continued to believe in the B.O.M for another two years after leaving the church. It seems he wanted to believe but the facts got in the way and you just have to go with the facts!

The facts are that the LDS church has the same orginization as Christ has when he was here on the earth. They have a prophet, Amos 3:7, 12 apostles and Quorum of the 70 (Hebrews), they have temples much like throughout the bible, the BofMormon is the writings of the Native Americans.. this is something you learned about in school. The book of mormon IS true, ask any Indian and they will confirm. Thanks though... those are your facts

Hebrews actually tells us that Christ has replaced the priesthood that the mormons have restored. The temples you are talking about are from the old testament. A good video to watch regarding the indians is "DNA versus The Book of Mormon." Another is "The Lost Book of Abraham." This deals with the Joseph Smith's supposed translation of Abraham's writings.

Yes, we need to look at the facts in any subject. A phrase I like is "Everything should be as simple as possible, but not more so." If you look at "The Book of Abraham The Critical link" it tells us all we really need to know about the church if we were thinking of joining (or leaving.) Things would only becone comlicated if someone was to attempt to "defend the indefensible" as the mormons are trying to.

I know..I was in the same conflict once myself..I thought I would show those darn mormons they were false...all the while I knew they had the TRUTH. I saw the FALSEHOODS that apostate christians used and the tactics and lies at all costs to save those poor mormons souls...my heart knew it was wrong, but I persisted because they "had" to be wrong!..I belonged to a cult witnessing ministry...saw all thier deceitful ways...finally I could not take it any longer...I followed Christ and got out.

The bible has been translated a million times that explains why there are so many churches. But in ephesians 4:5 there's one lord one faith. Christ had a prophet 12 apostles and temples. What I meant was that no Gospel Essentials Teacher or temple worker would behave the way you do...and calling names is never justified...so I still say you are either an ex-member or about to become one...I also find it hard to believe that you work in the temple at only 26 and with your attitude.
