i'm sure I used to do a better version when I was 14 singing into my mum's floor lamp minus shade in my cut off denims, still got them ,just waiting to fit back into 28 inch waist!rod and the faces were great.andy
Na not as good as Hendrix. As Jimi sang with a soft velvety smooth style. But rods rasping Voice just sounds like a fog horn against such a pretty tune
Never gave it a thought at the time, that everyone from this era would get old, many passing away, and bands now going under their name now, have probably half the original line up!
A scribe in a music mag recently opined that Rod is almost wilfully ignoring of his past, and maybe present still, calibre. And I have to agree. Still, better that he has matured, albeit in a different and still lucrative direction, instead of being a sad man trying to re-enact his youth, or the later years when he was even better, in the early 70's. Great talent and engaging sense of humour still intact.
I was at that concert at The Sundown in Edmonton, 15yrs old an sweet on Rod!!! Fantastic night!!!

Great song, great performance, few folks can do "loose" like this. Maybe one of the very best Hendrix covers?
