so how did you make it exactly? I'm guessing you poured powder down the shaft and the put some kind of primer on the tip? how did you make sure the primer went off, did you put something on the tip of the arrow so that it struck the primer?

Push the primer down a little further and fit a broadhead on the top. You can make the broadhead activate the charge, which really makes an evil shot.

Last deer shot with that had both a broadhead and an arrow split in a Y shape imbedded in its side. The broadhead traveled a fair distance away from the bolt, inside the deer.

When I made the arrow I packed the sucker tight with Goex, I believe FFFF, anyway thing just blew up the first couple inches. I think maybe packing it too tight denied the powder necessary oxygen, so it pretty much snuffed itself, or so I speculate (I'm the shooter by the way).

@MasterMyers101 the story is that is supposed to be an M80 that my freidn made but we didnt let the wax try well enough and it put out the fuse. it didnt exlode so we thought by torching it with torch oil it would explode.. but it was just a big let down...::Cries::

try cutting the top off a watermelon & gutting it out..run a fuse down through the top, waterproof cannon fuse so it wont go out, stick a small green propane tank in it, the kind you use when you go camping, turn on the gas, pop the top back on and duct tape around were you cut the top off so it's air tight and run some electrical tape loosely around where the fuse is so it doesnt leak out of the top..me and my friend did this, it was awesome...and remember..hollow melon can float :D

I used to think of constructing exploding arrows in highschool, using ball bearings as your trigger seems to work awesome! How complex are your arrows? The ones I theorized over were complex and therefore would probably not work as well as this.

you know how there is rings on targets well it goes 0 if you miss 5 if you just hit it then a 8 of you hit the biggest ring were the vitals are and 10 if you hit the smallest one. i usually get like a 9,9- 9.3 on a good day but most of the time i get a 8 average all the yardages are different it is a fun technical course i will put up a vid of this course and all the shooting lanes and targets so we can make it bigger anyone is welcome we usually shot on Thursday knights

@wheredaminitacos when i have the time i am going to put a video showing how to do it without damaging the arrow. Basically, though you make the tip a shotgun shell with the shot replaced with fire works powder. Put a metal rod inside the arrow as a trigger. The kinetic energy forces the rod forward triggering the shell the same as the hammer on a gun. I did this successfully the first try and the arrow only gets a little carbon scoring.
