The Sick Rose is a short poem about decay. Revenge stories are about the characters destruction both for the antagonist and protagonist. I used the internal demon as the Worm and the main character as the Rose. By the end of the short the demon has completely taken over as the hero makes his revenge - 'his dark secret love does thy life destroy'. Its bold but I think its one of my best adaptations.
I get it. I didn't have to read this comment to put things together at least somewhat. I love that you put so much thought into this. It shows. And you are right it is one of your best ones yet. It's like the hero in the story becomes the antagonist by taking his revenge and letting the demon in, he succumbs to the pressure of the revenge and gives in. This presents him as the antagonist instead of the protagonist. It seems so real, because a lot of good people fall into this trap.

I've said this before on youtube, but I find Blake's vision lacks any sense of salvation. This video gets it so right! 5* Fav.
