Hackintosh's are much Cheaper as a real mac and have much better Computer parts. But you must install a lot of kext's and it will never work as smooth as a real mac. I know it cause i used a Hackintosh for myself, but now i love my Macbook Pro!! =)

You have 2 options: Buy a broken or one with missing/obsolete parts or take a G5 or Mac Pro case and build an intel one.

Only way to run Snow Leopard on it is to take a mac pro/g5 case and build one with intel processor.

The HDMI input overscans by default, and cannot be overridden.

This would mean that the image from any computer plugged in via HDMI will be zoomed in and slightly cropped. You won't see the title bar of your program or the leftmost file menu, and you'll certainly lose the program bar at the bottom of the screen.

Ebya7, That information would be incorrect - at least for me it is. I see the full menubar and everything else perfectly fine. Although, when updating with 10.6.2 it seems the HDMI was nuked - while there IS a workaround for this, I just decided to switch from HDMI-to-DVI, to a standard DVI cable.

With the DVI cable, I have noticed that I have to "refresh" my monitor when I restart, otherwise it is just a light blue screen. This only happens with DVI not HDMI.

Yeah, been trying to figure out how to make them quiet. Might have to do a little operation on the fans inside so that they are whisper quiet, but the rig runs cold 24/7 - and with the amount of music I pump out of it, I never hear it regardless - haha.

Tried looking into some apps to control the speed but couldn't find any and the BIOS only controls system fans. Boo.

I paid about 1900 total. But keep in mind, I also bought the monitor, surround sound speakers and a few "extras" - the parts themselves for the computer can be purchased for about 800-900.

A lot cheaper than any mac ;)
