@pablocorleto I'm not sure if the town has a name apart from Wudang Shan. Shan=Mountain. As I recall, the big city at the foot of the mountain is also called Wudangshan. At least that's what the train ticket said. I'm glad I stayed in the town near the top of the mountain instead of the big city since it saves some time.
mooney47, I am planning to go Wudang Shan this late summer or late autumn. Is this a good time? weather wise?since u been there .is it easier to take aflight from Beijing or Shanghai to Hubei city /capital of Shiyan? Correct or no?How do I get to Wudang from Shiyan?by train (how long) convenience etc., or by coach? are there tours to Wudang that I can book from here?which is better? plse help if u can thanks alot, my friend.
@chenshi56 As far as I know, summer/autumn is good. Winter might be cold. I took a train straight to Wudang Mountain (from Changsha I think) and got off the train at the Wudang Mountain stop and onto a little bus that took about 30 minutes/1 hour to get to the mountain. There must be plenty of buses from Shiyan to Wudang. All in all it's very accessible and more interesting than Shaolin Si. I wonder if it's getting more popular since I've been there since it's been popping up in more movies.
@lesleyburt Not terribly close, but not terribly far either. You could probably take an overnight train from Xi'an to Wuhan and then take a train to Wudangshan. Maybe there's a direct train from Xi'an.
enjoyed the footage. I would like to go there one day, i will before my time is up. Any suggestions to prepare for a trip like this........Im from California
Thank you so much for posting this (and your other videos)...for those of us unable to go, you have given us a glimpse and let us share in your explorations. Wonderfully done!
I was at Wudang Shan in 1997, before there was a road. Spent the day with Master Lee and Master Yo. Would enjoy a return but enjoyed the celebration of my 50th birthday in the traditional Chinese style that day. Follow the Tao Te Ching and remember searching for the Tao in a book is as searching for a cloud in a dusty road.
someone tell me where i can leave peacefully in china like on any mountains, i dont like hong kong am so tired and fed up of it i juss wanna stay at some place peacefully with my partner.
Hey :) Thanks for posting this video. The mountain & the clouds look beautiful, i hope to spend some time there one day training & also painting...watching your video makes me want to visit right NOW! :D
The mountain view is good but not impressive to me since I grew up there. I'm not interested with martial arts. Hope I could go back soon. Go there if you have a chance, you'll never regret. Once the highway to Xi'an is finished, I think it'll be easier for travelers.
Nice shot. I came from there. It seems most people I've talked to never heard about it, so that it's less crowded than other resorts in China. Wudang Mount is marked as World Heritage by UN. I really like the ancient buildings. Most of them were built at the same time as Forbidden City in Beijing, also by the Ming Emperors, so the style is also similar. Some others are even older than that.
I read your comment about Wudang mountain? Just wondering if you've been there? What bad things did you experience? I'm sure it was alot of fun anyhow. Hope to hear from you.
Thank you very much!

Also, did you find the altitude very difficult? I'm from an area that's at sea level. Will the drive up help me acclimate?
lesleyburt 1 year ago
@lesleyburt No, the altitude here I don't think is high enough to cause any issues.

How far away is this place from Xi'an? Is there a place in that town that serves western food?

No suggestions per say. This was one of my favorite places to visit. If I had to chose between this and Shaolin Temple, I'd choose here.
