I bought this recently only to find out it doesn't work...I have a laptop with Windows Service Pack3 installed, but when I try to install the driver, I get a message saying that I have to contact the vendor to verify that it is a valid Windows Installer Package. Am I missing some kind of Windows file, DLL, Windows update or something in order to install this? Help, please.

@TheLektioner Try to log on to your computer as a new user, a fresh new start. That solves the problem for the installer. On the other hand, the M-Audio Fast Track USB didn't work for me as much as I tried to get it to work. Since I'm recording guitars with Amplitube 3, I returned the M-Audio Fast Tack, and got a StealthPlug from IK Multimedia for an even cheaper price, and it works fantastic. Let me know how it went for you...

so this does this work just like a usb pre amp mixer ....u just hook the mic up to it and hook it up to the usb port or do you have to have other hard ware....all i want to do is record vocals and i was thinking of buying a phantom powered mic so i was just wondering would this be all i whould need to run it ...beside the software

okay .. hm i need help so please help me :P nows this is my problem , i connected a line 6 2.0 pod to the soundcard and then i connected the soundcard to my computer and it sound greate .. it works i do get the sound out of my speakers but i dont get the recording devic ... i cant record for some reason .. i can´t press the red recording button and when am playing the software is not getting any signal from my guitar .. but i can hear it in the speakers .. can you help me ?

If you wanted to connect it to a mixer then I suppose the easiest way would be to put your instruments into your mixer first then output from the mixer into the box. But in saying that - would you intend to use the mic input? Maybe you have that facility with phantom power on your desk.

Hi, I'm thinking about buying this Avid Recording Studio to record music. Will this work for windows 7 64bit system without any problems. The included software pro tools SE sounds very easy to use, but some people are having problems with this unit. Avid should make even better quality studio than this, but the only way to test it to try it out and see what happens.

I would imagine it would be compatible with most music software packages. The drivers, when installed, will display within the software environment. In the cases of sequencing software those will probably appear as ASIO drivers. Those software applications will see the hardware when they boot up. Providing the hardware is switched on first!
