i got this game back in April of 1994. I admit i got bored of it by june of 1994. But many years later, i played it again n it was no longer boring, cuse it just brought back too many memories, plus with the code to make this game play faster, i never knew about the code back in 1994, but once i got that code combined with the memories, this game became a personal classic timeless for me.
@MrInfamous1984 Yeah it is. I have no idea why Konami put out such a weak version for the MD. Yes it would never have had the level of colour or sound from the SNES version but it could have had all of the gameplay.
i always wanted a sequel to this game as a teenager. i used to write to konami lol...a sequel would have been hot on the snes....i hated the genesis version..
I downloaded a ZSNES emulator and this was one of my favorite games to play on it. Raph was the best Turtle to play as. That Chest Buster Move makes a great anti-air, counter-attack, AND combo finisher. Plus I like how it sounds more like "KICK BUTT!!"
Now I wonder if this will available in Wii Virtual Console...?
I've always found it kind of hard to win with Raphael (I prefer Don) because of his short range. It's also hard to take advanatge of an opponent's mistakes (Like Wingnut using the charging punch).
@PERROSKI323 You have to hit the Hard Punch + Hard Kick buttons at the same time when your special meter is filled and flashing. I think the default buttons for that are X+A.
i played that game at least as much as SFII, and even with a bit more fun since the turtle theme is so cool! that weird robo was my favorite i guess, together with donatello
Heh. The Marilyn Monroe poster at the Back Alley stage was kind of funny...blowing kisses at the end of the match. It reminds me of Feilong's stage in SF where the creatures come alive along the mountain in the background at the end of the match. Same with E. Honda's. I guess it's not just the fighting styles that resemble SF.
Pretty cool game. I see the resemblance to SF II. Did Mike just shoot a fireball from his mouth? Wtf lol. I think I heard him say dragon breath. Must be from all those pepperoni pizzas he eats lol. Even the bonus rounds are very similar to SF II lol.
This game looks completely different than the Genesis game of the same name. On an unrelated note, do you use an emulator or the actual console/cartridge to record?
I personally prefer the look of the Genesis version. The backgrounds are more creative and varied than what I've seen of the SNES version. Though, gameplay does look much better on the SNES.
I've played all three versions. The NES version is pretty bad. I didn't like the Genesis version too much, although the character roster on that one was pretty good.
The gameplay for the SNES version was made very much like Street Fighter II, which was definitely the biggest fighting game at the time. Even though it's a clone, it's a very good one. There was some really awful fighting games that tried to copy SF II but failed miserably (i.e., Justice League Task Force, Double Dragon V, etc.).
Wow, you're right. That is a really obvious SFII clone. They even copied most of the moves.

to this day , I still do not know that they chose the name Jamboree for one of his moves. Aw well sounds good when he does it

I miss this game. I use Raph, and beat the game on hard. My favorite moment, playing with the Game Genie added.

I just ordered this game, I hope it works. Lol for bonus round you rob a bank. Great playing skills though.
To play a character like Raph you have to master the art of blocking and his moves.

His is the most up close personal style of combat. Can feel every successful strike as he pierces the enemies flesh inflicting excruciating pain.

Indeed, his projectile comes from his mouth, and it is called Dragon Breath. I think your explanation of its origin seems really likely, LOL.
And yes, the bonus round is pretty much a copy of the brick-breaking bonus round from Street Fighter II.

While the SNES, Genesis, and NES titles of this game have the same name, they are all vastly different from one another.
I record the actual cartridge/console using my capture device.
