I love both these car's, dont get me wrong. But If i had to choose, it'd be a viper anyday, just the sound the car makes alone are the deciding factor. Plus from what most review's say the GT-R is rather boring to drive.

I like Vipers because of their looks and brute power weather they handle perfectly is almost unimportant when can you drive 160 through a corner? If you have a GTR when can you push it to the limits? so for 99% of the people that can afford one its only good light to light drag racing.
Besides on Forza 3 I have never been beat by a GTS in my stock ACR so thats proof enough for me!!! LOL

These cars are build for bragging rights only and to get chicks, if we only cared about how fast the car was we would all be driving Honda Civics with V8's welded into them. Speed and power is not the only important thing when we purchase or like a car.

Its funny that Vipers for years have been stereo typed as band handling cars becuase of the fiorst few years. Each year they get better just like all other manufactures do. The last 8 years Vipers have been truely good handling cars, not the easiest to drive becasue of their brute power and hard steering but they can get around a race course damn fast. So they add some spoilers and remove some carpet and now its a "purpose built" car. All these cares are purpose built, who needs a GTR?
The Viper has more potential than any other car out there with it's massive 8.4 liter v10. Bolt a blower or twin turbos on the Viper like most guys do and you can make 2,000 HP and run in the low 7s with a street car. The Viper is also the fastest lap for a production car at Nurburgring edging out the Bugatti and the Ferrari ENZO...
@masonizere Gumpert Apollo costs about $600,000, the Radical SR8LM is not really streetable at all and costs $180,000. Not many chicks want to ride in a toy formula car! The Viper ACR is $105,000 and I know that is not cheap but it beats cars that are two three times the price, the only car that does not cost the same or more that competes with it is the GTR and it cant beat it on a race course. MAD RESPECT for the GTR! But I love Vipers.

My commant was that the Gumpert Apollo is the fastest production car around Nurburgring, and no the Gumpert Apollo costs $276,678 but its was built like the ACR viper they both are purpose built racing cars they are both in a complete different league to other cars no where near competitive to the GTR. The GTR is an all day supercar four seater saloon and for a car to weigh 1,749 KG with only 480 BHP why even compare ?

Just did some research and the average GTR 1/4 mile time is about 11.6-11.7 while the average z06 time 11.3-11.4 so yea in a drag race z06 is just a bit quicker, and im not talking about 0-60 times before u say anything. we r talking a bout a full 1/4 mile race.

The Viper looks pretty stock with around 600 crank hp... Throw twin turbos on that bad boy and it can turn out 1/4 ets in the high 7s with 1,600 hp.. Nothing in a passenger car will crank out more ponies than the Viper... If the Viper had 4wd it would leave the Datsun in the Dust...

That GT-R is definitely not stock. Two completely different animals. Takes actual skill to drive a viper; in the gtr you have all the electronics and launch control.

Sorry, you're wrong. The 7:26 time is real. There was another claim that the ZR1 did the Ring in 7:22.4. There was no proof of it though, not even proof that the driver hit the track. In a nutshell, a number just flew out of someone's mouth who had a ZR1 parked outside.
GTR is only split seconds from ZR-1 and the ZR-1 has extra V8 158 bhp and 310 kg lighter.... The Z06 as no chance on the GTR in drag race or track.....

They down force alone hurts it a lot, 125mph trap speed is a normal time for a Z06. Anothing thing is GTR have been proven to be under rated, testers have claimed over 500hp at the crank. With it's LC, gear box, traction and the large amount of computers it has, gives it more then enough to make up for it's lack of hp, and extra weight.

@masonizere type in motortrend GTR dyno in google & lick first link & read their artical it's pretty good. The GTR is made more the the straight then the ACR is. The more track built u make a car, the less straight line built it becomes (for the most part) bound re-bound, camber, susupension stiffness needs to be adjusted for track & in such an extream case like in the ACR it hurts it's times..
@masonizere and down force doesn't help with traction off the line...only at higher speeds, which means really nothing in a 1/4mile. GTR has nothing to hurt it's time...the dang thing shifts in 0.2 sec, it has VDC, ATESSA ET-S all of which give it an advantage over the ACR in a 1/4. The ACR package delets the radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad & tire inflator losing 80lbs...

the acr, is usually fatser than what it did there. and try to find some quarter mile times for z06 and gtrs....8/10 times the z06 has a a better time. Yes the Gtr usually has better 0-60 times due to its awd, but after that, the z06 gains the upper hand.

The ACR version isn't designed to go in a straight line. It can barely top 170 mph. The body kit and spoiler apply over 1000 lbs of down force by 150 mph. Notice how the ACR starts off strong but the faster they go the more the GT-R catches up. The ACR is gaining more and more weight as they go.
Oh and that was ONE GT-R. Porsche bought a GT-R and they haven't been able to get within 12 seconds of 7:29. RINGER. The ACR ran low 7:20's on its first half-day attempt with plenty of mistakes.

Its funny that Vipers for years have been stereo typed as band handling cars becuase of the fiorst few years. Each year they get better just like all other manufactures do. The last 8 years Vipers have been truely good handling cars, not the easiest to drive becasue of their brute power and hard steering but they can get around a race course damn fast. So they add some spoilers and remove some carpet and now its a "purpose built" car. All these cares are purpose built, who needs a GTR?

The Viper has more potential than any other car out there with it's massive 8.4 liter v10. Bolt a blower or twin turbos on the Viper like most guys do and you can make 2,000 HP and run in the low 7s with a street car. The Viper is also the fastest lap for a production car at Nurburgring edging out the Bugatti and the Ferrari ENZO...

@masonizere Gumpert Apollo costs about $600,000, the Radical SR8LM is not really streetable at all and costs $180,000. Not many chicks want to ride in a toy formula car! The Viper ACR is $105,000 and I know that is not cheap but it beats cars that are two three times the price, the only car that does not cost the same or more that competes with it is the GTR and it cant beat it on a race course. MAD RESPECT for the GTR! But I love Vipers.

My commant was that the Gumpert Apollo is the fastest production car around Nurburgring, and no the Gumpert Apollo costs $276,678 but its was built like the ACR viper they both are purpose built racing cars they are both in a complete different league to other cars no where near competitive to the GTR. The GTR is an all day supercar four seater saloon and for a car to weigh 1,749 KG with only 480 BHP why even compare ?

The Viper is the fastest around Nurburgring for 100k beating Porche, Farrari, Lambo, Vettes, GTR's. Look if that GTR had beat the Viper by a 100th of a second everyone would be doggin the Viper I say both are kick ass.

@masonizere WRONG, the GTR would beat a normal SRT10 around the track, and yeah the Vipers are not the totaly fastest car ever but they are in the top league. Point is that people stereo type Vipers as "slow". No one buys a GTR for its ride quality and luxuary, if that was the concern you would just get the G37, Nissan has built these to be super car killer and really they have done it because of price and performance.

Just did some research and the average GTR 1/4 mile time is about 11.6-11.7 while the average z06 time 11.3-11.4 so yea in a drag race z06 is just a bit quicker, and im not talking about 0-60 times before u say anything. we r talking a bout a full 1/4 mile race.

The Viper looks pretty stock with around 600 crank hp... Throw twin turbos on that bad boy and it can turn out 1/4 ets in the high 7s with 1,600 hp.. Nothing in a passenger car will crank out more ponies than the Viper... If the Viper had 4wd it would leave the Datsun in the Dust...

B/S cobb tuning GTR's do 1/4 miles in 10.7 s and less with 600 BHP, this is a standard GTR with 480 BHP....Even standard GTR's do 1/4 miles in 11.6 seconds, either the video is a lie or the GTR driver is completely shit at drag racing...Either way GTR was split seconds from beating a car with more power, less weight and bigger engine lol....

GTR is only split seconds from ZR-1 and the ZR-1 has extra V8 158 bhp and 310 kg lighter.... The Z06 as no chance on the GTR in drag race or track.....

@masonizere although u r rabling stats, and do have some points. Something to take notice is the ACR is actually not ment for straight line. They down force alone hurts it a lot, 125mph trap speed is a normal time for a Z06. Anothing thing is GTR have been proven to be under rated, testers have claimed over 500hp at the crank. With it's LC, gear box, traction and the large amount of computers it has, gives it more then enough to make up for it's lack of hp, and extra weight.

The more track built u make a car, the less straight line built it becomes (for the most part) bound re-bound, camber, susupension stiffness needs to be adjusted for track & in such an extream case like in the ACR it hurts it's times..

GTR has nothing to hurt it's time...the dang thing shifts in 0.2 sec, it has VDC, ATESSA ET-S all of which give it an advantage over the ACR in a 1/4. The ACR package delets the radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad & tire inflator losing 80lbs...

I dont have a problem with it. Its about time someone invented a car for people that cant drive..its very charitible. I just think it takes the fun out of driving a car.

i see what u mean, thats why if u want a GTR with a Manual?? U go for the R34 GTR V-Spec, if u want paddle shift? then u go for the R35...but i see what ur saying though..

VTEC..LOL..ur talkin about Honda, na shit it better be fast with 100HP more on tap, Embarassing? c'mon man im sure u have c'mon sense to know the ACR has more HP and its Lighter compare to the GTR. Oh the GTR might not be the first car to have 2 clutches, but its is the FIRST 4 seat Sports Car to pull in 7:29 with LESS HP and MORE weight at the Nurb, and also runs in the 11's in the 1/4now u go home gay boy. Put the AMUSE or MINES R35 on this ACR and see what happen to the ACR Garden snake, LOL.

The ACR version isn't designed to go in a straight line. It can barely top 170 mph. The body kit and spoiler apply over 1000 lbs of down force by 150 mph. Notice how the ACR starts off strong but the faster they go the more the GT-R catches up. The ACR is gaining more and more weight as they go.
Oh and that was ONE GT-R. Porsche bought a GT-R and they haven't been able to get within 12 seconds of 7:29. RINGER. The ACR ran low 7:20's on its first half-day attempt with plenty of mistakes.

Maybe u haven't read the "article" entirely buddy, Nissan called out Porsche and said "Porsche can't drive". So Nissan asked Porsche to bring out one of its driver to the track and they'll teach them! basically..."driving lessons".Nissan also has proof of the runs and tire was used during the test, plus they"ll teach "any" car company how to drive the GTR....

If thats the case then Nissan is full of shit. I'd buy into the Porsche driver being a second or two off, but they couldn't get the GT-R within 12 seconds of Nissan's claimed time. Thats not a bad driver, thats a different car they drove. Nissan upped the boost for THEIR run and gave Porsche the standard GT-R. They did the same thing with the car magazines. NISSAN'S GT-R posted a 3.3 second 0-60, but everyone else got between a 3.5 and a 4.1 second run. How do you explain that in an automatic?

every GTR haters always think Nissan is full of shit. How u know? u were there or something? How u know Nissan upgraded their boost? U got this shit twisted, "EDMUNDS" was the first Magazine to post a 3.3 seconds, Nissan been claiming "J-Spec" model 3.5 from the start, and then MotorTrend got U.S Spec model and got 3.2 rite out the factory, so maybe u should write them a letter and ask them? The "only" Magazine got 4.1 is R&T because the driver haven't got the hang of the GTR yet!

Again, how do you get a 3.2 second run and a 4.1 second run in the same car? And don't say driver error cuz its an AUTOMATIC. Who do you think supplied Edmunds their GT-R? It was straight from Nissan, NOT from an open public dealership. I fully believe the GT-R is capable of a 3.5 second 0-60 run with its LC. Anything quicker with its power/weight ratio I find very hard to believe. And Nissan says they're going to teach drivers how to drive an automatic? Cute.

once again wasp10, u need to read the article again on the Edmunds test. The GTR was from an "owner", NOT from Nissan dummy, Edmunds met the owner on a run way strip to test the GTR, don't forget its from the owner, not from Nissan. That 4.1 BS comes from R&T, the "only" magazine to get 4.1, where tons of magzine get from 3.2-3.6.

Riiiight. Someone just happened to have a GT-R weeks before its release date.
Also if it was indeed someone else's car the entire test should be null and void, as there's NO way to prove the car hasn't been tampered with or modified. ALL of these tests should be done on cars on dealership lots available to the public.

whatever dude, u just blinded and a straight up GTR hater. Im not saying the GTR will beat everything on the road, but u must not done ur research enuff on this test. In Japan the GTR was release "months" early before other countrys get the GTR, the US didn't get it till June of 08' and other countrys getted early than the US. The performance parts for the GTR didn't come out till June or July and this test was done in March or April, completely stock. In Japan u got connect?

You don't get a 3.2 second 0-60 run and then a 4.1 second run in the same AUTOMATIC car. Almost a full second difference. Again, its not driver error, the car does all the work for you. And the only company that can get those super-car performance times is Nissan when the GT-R is in the spotlight? Es so si que es indeed...
