@WaoYouka07 NOOOOOO..... They ruin anything they do! I don't mind they mess with Maury Yeston's Phantom, but Jekyll and Hyde is where I draw the line for Takarazuka adaptations.
@WaoYouka07 And one thing I truly don't like about Takarazuka is how the audience goes there to see, not the play, but the actresses (& "actors"?). I think that is why they never adapt a Broadoway musical AS-IS, and insist to add lots of crap in it. The problem is, Takarazuka does not have the best composers to pull this off. Phantom was a decent play, but the extra songs that they added suck.
@Punax It just seems to be a reflection of the Japanese culture itself - the women go to see their idols/whatever rather than see a show for its worth. Nothing wrong with it per se because there is probably some appreciation of the plays by themselves by the general public, but it's more about presentation, supporting their beloved actors and atmosphere that makes hardcore fans hardcore (being the ones who are the most visible).
@Punax It's just an adaptation. I know alot of their singing sucks (especially the otokoyakus), but the whole revue is somewhat fetishistic and its goal is more about creating a very pretty and immersive fantasy for its devoted and primarily female audience.

@Punax You didn't draw the line at the Importance of Being Ernest instead? THAT was a messed up adaptation hahaha :)

@WaoYouka07 The name ("Ernest in Love"--WTF??) was to stupid for me to even mention that.
