This is my favourite ride in the whole park, and thats coming from someone who likes rollercoasters. I'm not sure but I think its the music that really makes it. There was an enthusiastic round of applause at the end! All four of us (youngest 10yo, oldest 68) had a bit of a headache after, but we were all totally awe-struck. Fantastic job. Youngest was convinced she was upside down at some point, totally refused to listen to me telling her that our hair never once stood up off our heads.

This ride doesn't make sense to me, it's a good ride, but there's a cursed oak which when the curse is shouted a member of the Earl's family dies, grief stricken, he loses his mind and chains the oak up and keeps the fallen branch in a laboratory, I get it so far, but then randomly the room starts revolving, and that's what doesn't make sense.

I'll tell you guys how this ride works. Basically the thing your sat it turns you 90 degrees left and right while the whole room is turning round so it gives you the illusion that your going upside down when your actually not it is the room the is turning as well i know this because when you went on it if you were going upside down your hair would be sticking up (if you have long hair that is)
@nikolamuchova its kinda like a motion simulator - your seat moves a little bit (about 45 degrees) and the room rotates the rest, so it looks like you go upside down

All you do is go through 2 rooms which tells you a story about hex. Afterwards you go on the actual ride. There are two long benches opposite each other and you only have lap bars. You move a bit like the pirate ship but the room revolves around you so it feels like your going upside down.

(becuase it tells you a story for the suprise at the end) then you go through to another room and all these tv's flicker on and then you go through to another room and go and sit on the benches and the ROOM moves not YOU so bascially it is an illusion of the mind (: its really awesome though :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

The best part of this ride is at the start when NOTHING is moving the room is completely still and you get the feeling of a force on you like your swinging or going upside down, it's really a WTF moment. Saying that I spent the whole ride trying to work out how it worked, I've been to Alton Towers about 30 times in my life, ranging from about 8 years old to 18, and I only went on this 3 days ago, god I missed out......
i went to Alton Towers today and went on Hex, Nemesis, Thirteen, Oblivian x3, Ayr and more. And i have to say Hex was my favourate, i really enjoyed it
Wasnt expecting too much but this ride freaked me out and my daughter was screaming the place down. It gives you the strangest feeling, really difficult to describe. Make sure you go on it though, it is bizarre but great!
the bench swings, but the room rotates in the opposite direction to you to make it look as though you're spinning round eg. the bench is swinging clockwise and then it goes back anti clockwise - the room would spin anticlockwise and then go clockwise to make it look like you go all the way over. that was probably a really rubbish way to explain it, but i hope it helps. :)
@laurenskarratts But, it only swings about 90 degrees the room spins all the way around, its just done in sync to make you thing your upside-down but really its just like a bench swing in a moving room.
well without goibng in to to much detail, the seats you sit in are inside a large cylinder . the seats are able to swing to just under the height of blade. but the walls can rotate a full 360.
The best part of the ride for me is at the start were the walls swing at the same speed as the seats creating the affect of you not moving at all, but you can feel the forces on your body.
yeah tha room spins around nd my dad is les davies who talks about it all at the begining. all of the history took him about 2 years to dscover it all and all he got ita bottle of wisky for it lol i like the ride but it aint the best

The best part of this ride is at the start when NOTHING is moving the room is completely still and you get the feeling of a force on you like your swinging or going upside down, it's really a WTF moment. Saying that I spent the whole ride trying to work out how it worked, I've been to Alton Towers about 30 times in my life, ranging from about 8 years old to 18, and I only went on this 3 days ago, god I missed out......

i went to Alton Towers today and went on Hex, Nemesis, Thirteen, Oblivian x3, Ayr and more. And i have to say Hex was my favourate, i really enjoyed it

Wasnt expecting too much but this ride freaked me out and my daughter was screaming the place down. It gives you the strangest feeling, really difficult to describe. Make sure you go on it though, it is bizarre but great!

the bench swings, but the room rotates in the opposite direction to you to make it look as though you're spinning round eg. the bench is swinging clockwise and then it goes back anti clockwise - the room would spin anticlockwise and then go clockwise to make it look like you go all the way over. that was probably a really rubbish way to explain it, but i hope it helps. :)

@laurenskarratts But, it only swings about 90 degrees the room spins all the way around, its just done in sync to make you thing your upside-down but really its just like a bench swing in a moving room.

I loved that ride, i laughed my arse off all the way threw, kind of like the magic swing at Blackpool pleasure beach,
if i remember that was just a room with a checkerd floor?
no idea if they still have that ride..

well without goibng in to to much detail, the seats you sit in are inside a large cylinder . the seats are able to swing to just under the height of blade. but the walls can rotate a full 360.
The best part of the ride for me is at the start were the walls swing at the same speed as the seats creating the affect of you not moving at all, but you can feel the forces on your body.

yeah tha room spins around nd my dad is les davies who talks about it all at the begining. all of the history took him about 2 years to dscover it all and all he got ita bottle of wisky for it lol i like the ride but it aint the best
