  • Gimme weed, whites, and wine

  • @Helotes420 you don't have to be a smart ass, i watched a documentery of the show at folsom prison and it said he wrote it after the folsom prison show. I didn't treat you like a dumb dick when i said that so there is no reason to be a dick head to me ass hole.

  • nice version

  • Real name Nathaniel Lawson? hmm, I thought this was based on William Robinson the black soft-shoe dancer in the early Shirley Temple movies known as Mr. Bojangles who JJ Walker met while in jail in New Orleans!

  • @whocares1694. Jerry Jeff was born in 42 and William "Bojangles" Robinson died in 49.Wanna try again?

  • I believe this is one the finest songs ever written :D

  • mr bongales was a man who invent tap dancesand made it famouse and they really meet in a jail after jerry jeff walker drank a little to much

  • my favorite song!!!

  • What a beautiful and sad song.....this is wonderful version...

  • I never knew who wrote this song until a lady at work was bragging about seeing this guy live in our home town years and years ago..

  • Lovely....

  • mesmerizing! finally found this after years of searching. also the 45 disc is the ''original'' for me.the accompaniment separates this from all other versions, none of which even come close.

  • Finally found the original!

  • agreed. as much as sammy does it well, n the nitty aswell, there is nothing as good as hearing it with all the soul of the original. funny that within 4 hrs of you posting a comment, i watch it. and its been here for coming on to a year now. ive watched this one from a dozen computers with different users. and countless times from mine.

  • It's a shame that as of this posting there were only 66 views of this beautiful, original version of a classic tune.
