@apsodifugyht5 true diesels are very efficient. electric cars may get thier power from a coal plant in most cases but the carbon footprint is reduced regardless as powerplants do produce energy much more efficiently than en engine ever could and they generate in bulk which also helps efficiency. so yes ur still generating pollutants but the ends justify the means

You are inccorect there orings are for sealing shit cause there smooth rubber O's they go on pipe fittings and shit. piston rings are aluminum and they have a slit in them so you can install them on the pistons, there are oil rings then there are the compression rings that can handle the compression put out by the engine then you gotta have the right end gap you grind and use feeler gauges to set that correctly.

You are inccorect there orings are for sealing shit cause there smooth rubber O's they go on pipe fittings and shit. piston rings are aluminum and they have a slit in them so you can install them on the pistons, there are oil rings then there are the compression rings that can handle the compression put out by the engine then you gotta have the right end gap you grind and use feeler gauges to set that correctly.

blue smoke is oil and only oil.

White is unburnt fuel, cold day engines not hot enough to fire, low compression
black smoke is wayyyyy too much fuel. You can make the same power with no smoke but its difficult to get the ratio perfect, so more fuel is better to make power than less fuel is.
The black smoke is soot the product of more fuel then air but its still burning.

No it Does get burned completely its just theres more fuel the oxygen so it comes out blacker then it would. if you look in the exhaust of any truck that never dumped smoke in its life the exhaust is till covered in soot because over the years the little soot that is normal in diesel collects. its just like normal engines with the carbon build up on pistons heads and valves and the exhaust

Black smoke is caused by excess fuel that has entered the cylinder area and cannot be burned completely. Another term for excess fuel is "running rich." Poor fuel mileage is also a common complaint when black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Black smoke out the tailpipe is the least cause for alarm. Excess fuel will usually effect engine performance, reduce fuel economy, and produce a fuel odor.

furthermore, if it IS getting burned completely, then there is nothing to produce the smoke coming out. you cannot burn the extra fuel in the mix if there is no air to help fuel it. gasoline itself only contains 2% oxygen in it, and that's the reformulated gasoline. and diesel fuel, though has a major constituent of monoalkyl esters, still does not have enough oxygen in it to burn completely in a rich mixture. you should take a chemistry class. i learned this in high school

and with the level of intelligence you put into the things you say, especially with your spelling("there"? its "their") you may want to stick to small engine repair. its simple enough even for you. you just replace the spark plug(sometimes you can just wire brush them and they make it go again :-D ), and the air filters are so easy to replace, that you can't lose. i know i'm probably giving you too much credit, but i feel in treating people like they are smarter than they really are
