wonderful stuff...I will always miss Houser...for his prose, soulful solos, and segueing in between tunes. Change is the only thing that is constant it seems and I would support panic no matter who their lead was. Their lyrical depth and spiritually charged music has been an inspiration for me. I am so happy Jimmy is in the band. Besides being a guitar virtuoso...he is a class act!

I was actually one of the lucky few to be invited that day to the studio. They sounded great considering they are in a cramped plastic walled box with lots of family and friends looking on. You don't see it, but the plastic wall is like 2 feet in front of Jimmy.

I hate to agree with any Vol, but gotta . Too hyper, funny how you miss Mikey missin' a note here and there, and everywhere. It was almost like you had to have the dissonance of delay. Got it together there at the end. .. nailin' the solo, to be expected from our new powerhouse. he will hammer it this summer.  Glad this one is now back in the mix. Guess it was harder to learn than we thought.

You are mistaken. Watch the vid...somebody was moving shit from under Jimmy's feet while he was playing. More importantly listen to the music. Does it sound like Jimmy is playing like the half assed guitarists that he replaced? Put Houser and McConnell together and they still wouldn't be fit to tune Herrings guitars.

I remember reading somewhere that Beck had a bunch of studio musicians record an album with him. They were too perfect, so he made them wear paper bags over their head during the recordings.

Jimmy needs a "paper bag" sometimes. You can close your eyes and it almost takes you back but it lacks that power and edge that is Widespread Panic. Just too perfect.
