sigh... you know, when they introduced Grievous not only did he outmaneuver half a dozen Jedi on the battlefield, one of them a council member, but he also single handedly knocked the hell out of them without any force powers for sport. Now he can't even take out a freaking 10 year old girl without screwing it up.

Chopping down some undead witches then getting an arm hacked off (because apparently Grievous can't get into a fight in the new clone wars without losing a limb) by the bald chick and having to resort to being saved by mindless droids still isn't my idea of Grievous at his best. @177SCmaro Episode III and the old Clone Wars series were being made at the same time. As the old series went Grievous' powers were toned down to make him same as he is in Episode III. And Ahsoka is 14 here. This Grievous is faithful to Episode III.

@177SCmaro That story of him conquering his home world was his original back story which George Lucas changed (Read up his newer one on Wookieepedia). And Ahsoka has advanced abilities which is one of the reasons they made her Anakin's Padawan.

@Stormraider821 A plausible explanation. Losing to Mace would make sense, since he was, arguably, the most powerful Jedi at the time, even to Yoda since one must remember, he's quite old. But even with weak lungs, his genius still remains but that isn't evident in this cartoon, since he loses at just about every turn. But still, a Padawan escaping him? Pretty out there imho.
Unfortunately the Grievous here is NOT the same cold, powerful and ruthless extremely capable General of the Droid Army of the original cartoon series. He comes off as a bumbling idiot barely worth the effort since he pretty much always fails at every single action. Honestly, I don't know how THIS version of Grievous got so high in the ranks. He can't form a coherent strategy and never learns from his mistakes. Grievous' original portrayal is unforgettable.
@SandStormCataclysm Well put. The people who did the first cartoon were the same who did the masterpiece that was Samurai Jack and they certainly knew how to pull Grievous off perfectly. And I think this show was more geared towards a younger audience but it's a shame that they had to sacrifice the story for marketability. Not to mention that isn't a very good practice, either.
@Twistedonslaught I don't get why people think that the Clone Wars is a young kids show, when it clearly isn't. The show has gotten very, very dark and violent recently, and the show is getting a wider audience for it. In the last few episodes, The Clone Wars had full-on decapitations, prisoner executions, and snapping necks, not to mention more complex plots. The show may have a marketing campaign aimed at 7 year olds, but some of the content may be hard for them to digest.
@Hothmaster one problem i have with the cartoon series is that it keeps milking everything to do with the actual films! and Ahsoka is meant to die at some point, yes you can hate me for saying that, but the story lines of the film plot dictates she gets killed, and for the young heroin of the series which all the kids will see as their star to be diced by a Sith would be kind of mean... worse if they make it Anakin

This was probably the most disappointing moment during his tenure as Supreme Commander of the Separatist Armies. A general with the strength and focus to defeat 5 jedi and conquer a planet at the same time, but could not at least wound Ahsoka. Maybe one day his time will come again.

@QwerV2009 Actually, the writer's cleverly showed a bunch of spare parts in Grievous's lair in the epsidoe, "Lair of Grievous". I mean, the guy needs them doesn't he? He needs to start wearing vambraces or something...

Doesn't Ahsoka get killed by Grievous in the third film? Its a deleted scene I'm pretty sure? He has her hostage when Obi and Anakin are trapped in the rayshields and stabs her through the chest . They then cut through the floor to escape.

@OptimusProwlGirl Grievous was able to handle five Jedi by himself, two of which were on the Jedi Council at the time, and an entire squadron of ARC troopers. Ahsoka being able to take on Grievous alone and survive is horribly inaccurate

This was probably the most disappointing moment during his tenure as Supreme Commander of the Separatist Armies. A general with the strength and focus to defeat 5 jedi and conquer a planet at the same time, but could not at least wound Ahsoka. Maybe one day his time will come again.
