  • Oh defeintly when I loss 60 pounds my hair and skin looked new!!! Like a fountain of youth!!! You know...The eliptacal machine is way better I used to use the treadmill and I hated the way my knees and ankles would ache. Imagine 300 pounds on size 7 feet...ugh.. so I switched its like a skiing motion more impact yes but you can go at your own pace loved it it burns way more fat then the treadmill.

  • Yeah the raw nuts aren't exactly the most appetizing things...I usually throw them into something so I won't notice them...wraps, Flax Z hot cereal, stir fry, ect... The only thing I'm not sure about is how high carb your diet is b/c the all the fat in the nuts combined with a higher carb diet might make you gain wt. Yikes!

  • I really worship you, i mean you stepped up and did something about your weight, unlike people who say they willl, but dont do anything. I really think you are a strong, independent women, i really appriciate that! Please keep on doing , what you are doing and stay healthy! Thank you!

  • you're doing great sweetie. you could always try a bellydance workout. it's very low impact, and while you feel silly at first, it can really be fun. it's the workout i stuck with the longest.

  • Great video! Gym can sux sometimes... I try to go to mine early when novody is there. Exercise DVD, I would recomment id Jillian Michaels or Yoga.

  • what does the water intake do?

  • water is super important in weight loss or to live a healthy lifestyle. It keeps you from being dehydrated which can make you think you feel hungry when really your just thirsty.. they have the same sensor. It speeds up your metabolism, speeds up the fat burning process, removes toxins, keeps you from getting constipated, gives you a sense of feeling fuller so you eat less, increases oxygen to your muscles, etc. etc. Hope this helps!

  • That's not accurate about the nuts. Nut oils are excellent for your insides and outsides. I eat pumpkin and sunflower seeds, almonds, pecans, and walnuts everyday. I suggest you ditch the roasted varieties and get them raw and unprocessed. Sugar causes inflammation (on the inside and outside). Other than that I think you're doing really good!

  • Good Job Love. :) .02 is nothing... it is all about the inches. :) I love yoga... some of the stretches are a lil hard but I am getting better and easy on my ole knees. :)

  • You know, I just read somewhere that our wieght can flux 5 pounds in a day and that the weight we are in the morning after our morning...you know what...is the real weight. Anyways, 2 lbs is nothing! ;0)

  • Im not sure what the weather is like where you live because I dont know where you live, but if possible, you could do some water exercises in the pool for summer time. I know that swimming and just being in the water just helps me not feel any pain and pressures and stuff. Just an idea, Im not trying to tell you to do something :-)

  • I don't have a pool and I don't live near any indoor pools to my knowledge. Water is the best exercise for anyone.. I used to teach water aerobics for the geriatric population when I was in college. Thanks for the tip though, may look into it!

  • That could, indeed, be water. We all fall down and we just have to pick ourselves up and get back on track. Besides, we all need special "off plan" nights. :)

  • I really like yoga and pilates because I have spinal arthritis and can't do a lot of high impact stuff. The two best ones I've found are Plus Size Pilates and JMS yoga. They are made for plus size girls and make the moves accomodate curves. All the stretch makes the back feel loads better.

    If you are working out, you should be building muscle. Since muscle weighs more than fat & burns more calories, you will notice a loss in inches quicker than a loss in pounds.

    I'd concentrate more on the inches lost than worrying about actual pounds.

  • aww thanks! Well I figure this is a life change... i plan on living for quite a few more years therefore I can't be super strict and rigid or I'll go off the deep end! And I've made up my mind that if I want a drink or a small dessert etc. I'm going to have it and just build it into my program without stressing over it!

  • the hair: increased calcium will make your hair and your nails grow. when our bodies are not getting enough vitamins they cut off circulation like trees with leaves. the body only does what is necessary and our nails/hair are the first extraneous place you see it.

    workout: richard simmons sweating to the oldies as crazy as it sounds his videos are low impact but great results.

  • I love those damn nuts. I was hooked on the salt and vinegar ones. They made me retain water like crazy and I did break out as well..

  • I work out at home and I use the biggest loser cardio max dvd and power sculpt I switch it up every day you should try it its awsome bye the way you look great keep up the good work.

    Dance videos look like a lot of fun, and you dont need much for it other than space around you enough to fully kick your leg out, just so you dont hit anything.

  • You should try yoga. You can do modifications if things are too rough. As you get used to it, you can push it a little more. It's relaxing and a workout at the same time. There are tons of tapes on it.

  • This may sound really weird but I have heard (from Jillian from The Biggest Loser) that it's better to just to a tequila shot than have a margarita. Something to ponder---not that I'm telling you to do shots and get loaded :-) Love your vid's and cooking. I'm trying tabulah tomorrow. Try and walk if you can. You look great and I love your attitude! Hugs!
