Gene I remember u on the grind at King & Queens I miss it. Those of us in the Atl. from the Chi have are loft parties to keep it Alive. This Video is awesome, yall understand and put the passion behind it. House is not just music, its a spirt spoken throught the skill of the DJ. Only a tru househead understands. Thanks Yall. House will never die.
Just interviewed Gene. Check out my podcasts. Who shot your footage? Well done. I'm diggin the music...It doesn't matter what venue the house-heads end up in, as long as they bring the spirit of the culture its a party... thanx 4 sharing!
Gene Hunt...thanks for this video it brung back memories..my hat goes off to u the way that u still embrace house music and your still off the chain..u are by far the best dj i've heard even to this day u still doing your thing even after all this time..u keep it real...and i have to agree with u about Robert being the godfather i want to thank u also Robert for the love and the parties.R.i.p (Ronnie)Gene,Emmanuel,Rahaan,Jamie 326.Mike Dunn, these are my favorite Dj's in that order
I cant believe how all of these video jointsa talking about house never mention La Mirage or the 53rd St beach aka congo beach. As a original live and die house junkie I can say without a doubt these spots were just as important and hot as the music box or the warehouse.
What up. I use to go to the La Mirage it was the jointand AKA Ron spint there a couple of times. Lamarage was later called Cliche. I don't think we knew what we had. It kept us out the streets, Dressing Fly, neat and out of trouble for the most part. I just wish we were filming back then. Showing the Energy.
4:42 "house is not progressive;" way to keep things in a limited (non Ron Hardy) vision!
