@LeeGeorge08 We Yanks aren't pathetic at running this little popcicle stand called THE WORLD. Now you better speak with respect before Daddy has to come bitchslap you back into your place. :)
Dammit, when they said "Carmageddon" on the news, I went out to the 405 and ran over some unlucky peds.....I guess I thought the wrong thing. (Carmageddon video-game FTW).
Thank you for clearing out the freeways for us! lol. I went to an event in L.A yesterday, and it was so easy to jump from one lane to another to take exits. Hardly any cars on the freeways lmao.
@QuitePossiblyANinja continued... it took the media screaming Carmageddon to get most of the people in this city to just stay put and stay off the roads. I've never seen it so clear.
@QuitePossiblyANinja Actually it's probably a good thing the media scared everyone shitless. They probably prevented complete caos. People in LA don't know how to stay home. Hell I planned to stay home this weekend and we somehow ended up out all day yesterday anyway and we're going to be out again all day today and that's just our lives every weekend. My 4 year old is so used to it he wakes up in the morning and the first question he asks every morning is "where are we going?"
how about i get a lill of that pie? sure am hungry ..in my puss voice "Oh there doing it now cause theres not that many people on the roads..HAHA! glad they get payed top dallor ...oh there going to block that open hole in the boarder system with all that extra concrete ? what huck it in the ocean! its kool we got hella money ! lol weak sauce....
@moonsugar1 Yes I know - but in this context? Also it's not that funny if you are from Germany. And I don't mean the subject but the fact that we can understand what they really say. That's kinda confusing XD
@ScumOfTheNation God i feel like such an ignorant ass now, I never even thought of how seriously mundane those videos must be if your German! (Language wise over subject matter again) That would really piss me off after seeing just one of those parodies. I wonder what the actors think about it being viral, the original scenes were actually quite well done.
@moonsugar1 Oh, no, don't fell like an ass. It's not that bad or that Germans wouldn't get the joke. That's just the thing about memes. They are all not actually that funny except you want them to be fun.
I haven't seen many of the subtitled movie-scenes because I just don't think they're funny. I find them rather boring but i wouldn't say i feel offensed by them.
(Also even i don't understand everything Hitler says in this video. He has a weird kind of accent XD)
@ScumOfTheNation You have a good sense about you, very polite, and a cat that looks like one of my friend's (one of his cats, not his facial features!) Why cant more people on YT be like that?
Also, I love the fact your German, I'm English, and we both agree that Americans have a shit sense of humour. LOL.
@shutupcarmageddon that's your opinion though LA is a great city if you can afford it. Plenty of stuff you can do and that area has its attractions. It's amazing though how the city of LA and the surrounding areas can sustain when it comes to water/food resources.
Something is fishy here. There are no road construction. No major accidents, no nothing like that. So, why that major road is closed all weekend and on monday?
People, think outside the box, nothing construction is going on, so why the shutdown?????
Something about to happen? I pray to the most high no, because alot of people will be caught and will not be able to escape.
@ginsushark if you ride a bike just where a helmet and have eye contact with the drivers or make yourself more visible and out in front of the driver ahead of you at a controlled intersection. They need to share the road with with you. I think New York city would be a much worse off area for bikes.
@shaithis80 - I saw 2 cyclists hit in 2 days. on teh same stretch of road. life is too valuable to play chicken with aggro self absorbed cell phone talking, just off the boat from xyz (where traffic is completely dif) LA drivers. NYC is the only place where ive seen a cyclist full on smash a pedestrian.
We're starting to have similar problems in our cities here in Australia. Granted there are more people in Los Angeles than there are in all of Australia, but still, being entirely vehicle dependent is causing some issues.
This just shows how crappy LA's transportation system is. Even when the 405 is open there's still guaranteed bumper-to-bumper traffic every day. There's no decent alternative, so people just get even more reliant on cars and freeways, and when the freeway has to close down for whatever reason, everyone is stuck :/
@Safarianna probably state of the art trasnit system but it is very unfortunate that you need a car to get around and need to be making a lot of money to afford the lifestyle. Thing is it is not the population of LA proper causing all of the congestion. It is all the commuters that have to drive where the work is. The freeway system also supports the heavy cargo from the seaports/airports that are trasnported dailty so problably another reason behind the mass highway network.
@Safarianna the unfotunate after effects of such a freeway system are daily accidents and the costs of personnel responding to such accidents (some drivers still probably drive irresponsibly to this day) and let's not forget the cost of cleanup/maintenance and retrofits for seismic activity. The exisiting rail systems and bus systems would seem inefficient. I can understand a bus commute for 1 hour. Anything over that 1 hour is just inefficient use of one's time.
@Safarianna NYC is really the only city in the U.S. that I know of with the most effective mass transit. Buses and Subways reign supreme out that way and saves on having any need for a car. Just need to plan your day accordingly. Cheers to LA's future. Who knows. One day when gas is no longer available, we might start seeing horse and buggy on the 405.
@shaithis80 I live in northern California (bay area). Up here we have BART and AC Transit. It's not fantastic, but it's still an alternative for people who cant afford cars/gas. I know LA has muni, but every time I bring it up with people I know they say it's laughable and not even worth it.
@Safarianna well at least the bay area got it right to some extent though I must say it does get it's share of traffic. One pro about mass transit, it does get people to socialize.
@Safarianna freeways were empty this weekend, everybody staid home. it worked out perfect for me. LMAO. not a big deal at all. they should close it more often
